Flexible charging system for EQ vehicles and plug-in hybrids

With the new flexible charging system, Mercedes-Benz has created a charging solution for everyone who travels a lot with an electric vehicle and therefore needs variable application options. The scope of delivery includes various adapters for household sockets, industrial sockets as well as public charging stations and wall boxes, which can be connected to the flexible charging system or the control unit via plug-and-play. A type 2 plug is permanently connected to this system. The vehicle can be charged with up to 22kW from any alternating current source.

a flexible charging system

Electromobility is on the advance, more and more customers are opting for an innovative and sustainable drive - either as a plug-in hybrid or as a fully electric vehicle. With the EQC, EQA and EQV as well as the EQS, which will start in the summer, Mercedes-Benz currently offers four powerful and with 0 g CO2/ km emission-free models that point the way to the future. In addition, more than 20 variants of Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be available as plug-in hybrids by the end of the year - from the A-Class to the GLE, from sedans to T-models, with petrol or diesel engines.

However, all vehicles with electric drives have one thing in common: they have to be charged. Wallbox, public charging station or household socket, the possibilities are diverse - and each connection requires its own charging cable. This is where the new flexible charging system comes into play. It is compatible with all current and future models of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles from Mercedes-Benz AG. With this compact, portable charging solution, you always have exactly the system you need in the trunk - whether at home, in the underground car park or when traveling.

Type 2 plug is permanently installed

A type 2 plug is permanently installed on the vehicle side of the charging system, with which all European vehicles can be conveniently charged. The different adapters can be easily plugged in at the adapter separation point. The system automatically recognizes the different adapters and adjusts the charging power accordingly. The maximum charging power of the flexible charging system is 22 kW. However, this can also be adjusted manually if this is desired. As with all accessory solutions from Mercedes-Benz, safety comes first. Integrated temperature sensors in the household adapters protect against overheating. The system can be driven over up to 1,1 tons and is protected according to IP67 even if it is temporarily submerged. It has integrated residual current circuit breakers, is designed for a temperature range from -30 ° to + 50 ° C and almost all components are AECQ-certified. Thanks to the convenient total length of the charging system of around five meters, power sources that cannot be directly accessed can also be used efficiently. About it
