Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 4023 as an expedition vehicle from Hellgeth engineering

In the Lower Franconian spa town of Bad Kissingen, long-distance travelers and globetrotters from all continents will meet during "Adventure & Allrad" from October 21 to 24, 2021. With the all-terrain Unimog, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks offers the ideal basis for long-haul and expedition vehicles, suitable for all requirements, from short vacations to world trips. Renowned body manufacturers such as Hellgeth Engineering or Blissmobil are represented with expedition vehicles and experts from Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks are available for technical questions about the basic vehicle.

All-terrain Unimog U 4023 and U 5023

The Unimog always finds a way, whether as a U 4023 or U 5023. The legendary UNIversal MOtor device with its uncompromising all-terrain mobility and more than seven decades of development experience goes beyond paved roads and paths even where others have long since had to give up. This is ensured by its portal axles, the switchable all-wheel drive, differential locks in both axles and an extremely torsion-proof vehicle frame. With the Tirecontrol plus tire pressure regulation system, the correct tire pressure can be easily and automatically selected while driving through the preset modes “road”, “rough road” or “sand” at the push of a button.

The single tires and the all-terrain reduction ratio of the Unimog are also positive for the traction. Its axle ratio ensures greater comfort, especially in motorhomes, thanks to the reduced engine speed. The Euro VI four-cylinder diesel in the Unimog produces 5132 kW (170 hp) from a displacement of 231 cc, and its maximum torque is 900 Nm. With a permissible total weight of 7,5 to 14,5 tons, the cult all-wheel drive vehicle as a long-distance travel vehicle offers sufficient payload at all times. In the sum of its properties, the Unimog is the ideal partner for expeditions, longer long-distance trips or outdoor use. The Unimog is also available as a Euro III / Euro V model on request.

Hellgeth Engineering & Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks (Stand M 15)

At the joint stand of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks and Hellgeth Engineering Spezialfahrzeugbau (M 15) there are several interesting exhibits: a Unimog U 4023 with a double cab and extensive refinement by the Unimog specialist Hellgeth, a U 5023 chassis optimized for motorhome bodies, a Unimog U 4023 expedition vehicle "Camper light" with 7,5 t GVW and a U 5000 convertible with fabric top. A representative from Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks from Wörth am Rhein is available for technical questions.

Unimog from Bliss Mobil

Bliss Mobil from the Netherlands uses the advantages of the container system for its residential structures. Chassis with wheelbases between 3250 mm and 5400 mm can be equipped with corresponding living rooms. In Bad Kissingen, a Unimog U 14 is on display at stand M 5023. The all-terrain Unimog U 4023 and U 5023 offer sufficient payload with a gross vehicle weight of 7,5 t to 14,5 t. Particularly important for long-haul motorhomes: the axle ratio of the Unimog ensures greater comfort thanks to the reduced engine speed.
