Mercedes-Benz Trucks is now offering a steering conversion (steering conversion) for Unimog models from the 80s and 90s that were delivered ex works with LS 3 and LS 6 – including the U 427, U 435 and U 437 series for the steering gears of type LS3 and LS6 has been discontinued by the manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz can no longer supply spare parts. Therefore, the conversion kit is now available to customers. The parts conversion kit can be easily installed by service partners and enables the installation of the new, current transmission of type 8095, as installed as standard in the Unimog U 4023 and U 5023, in the oldi.
Conversion package to current gearbox
The conversion package contains the majority of all required standard parts, but the Unimog models differ in some conversion parts, which must be supplemented by the service partner by selecting the right components. In addition to the future secure supply of spare parts, the conversion solution has another advantage: Both the price for the parts package and the conversion service at the service partner are consistently low compared to the previous option of converting to an LS3/LS6 gearbox.
