Of course it was only a matter of time before the M2 Competition arrives in the tuning scene. Since the "normal" M2 is already available in countless interpretations by countless tuners, the limited special model with the S55 biturbo engine from the M3 and M4 (replaces the N55) is slowly but surely enjoying various "measures" . The team from made the start last month Dähler the competition 540 PS and lots of goodies missed even more competition. And now the traditional tuner Manhart comes around the corner with a modified M2 Competition which, as the MH2 550, even delivers 10 hp more than the Dähler M2.

For Manhart, the modifications were relatively easy to implement because already 2016 showed the team from Wuppertal that the M4 engine in the M2 the optimal base is. The M2 had been refreshed optically a good year ago with the Manhart MH2 630 Track Edition which resembles this vehicle. But this time the basis is the BMW M2 Competition! From the factory 410 PS and 550 Nm, the tuner uses software remapping to conjure up a whopping 550 PS and 800 Nm torque and even puts the Competition ahead of the M3 & M4 CS, And if you have read the report on the above-linked MH2 630, you will find that the Competition also provides the basis for 600 PS in the M2.

many M-Performance carbon parts all around

But already the MH2 550 is damn fast. Incidentally, there is a new carbon intake system and in-house stainless steel rear silencers, which are smaller than the series counter and come with four carbon-coated tailpipes to increase performance. There are no effects on the factory production catalytic converters. And visually, there are some differences. From the M-Performance shelf come the front splitter, the sidewings, the rear diffuser and the rear spoiler lip made of carbon, which harmonize perfectly with the standard carbon exterior mirrors. However, the visual highlight is definitely the in-house matt black Concave One wheelset in 21 inches with Michelin Pilot Supersport tires.

Thanks to KW coil springs, the double-spoke rims are approx. 25 mm closer in the wheel arch and enable an even sportier driving style. And who looks closely will realize that currently still the standard M sports brake is installed. Soon, however, Manhart wants to deliver a stronger carbon-ceramic version. The MH2 is visually rounded off with the typical dull gold accents all around including various Manhart lettering and emblems. And also in the interior you have already immortalized. Here, Manhart installed an Awron additional display to retrieve all important driving values of the MH2 at the push of a button and, moreover, chic floor mats with a Manhart stick. In the M2 Competition available ex works on the other hand, the M-Steering Wheel is equipped with buttons for storing and selecting the desired driving modes, the M-Driving Experience Button or the red Start-Stop Button.

We are curious if Manhart will eventually bring the competition as MH630 version. Maybe this will then also enjoy the optional carbon bonnet with power domes and air intakes, the sidewings or the fixed rear wing. We are curious ...
