Regarding BMW M4/M3, the models of the current G8x generation are now the focus of the tuning landscape. In the meantime, even special models like the made their debut M4 CSL and the M3 CS - after all, such exclusive offshoots have a long tradition in the middle-class top model from Munich. There were a particularly large number of them in the M4 predecessor of the F82 series, including two DTM Champion Editions on the occasion of the championships in the DTM series. During the first DTM Champion Edition from 2014 is rare, of the second from 2016 at least 200 pieces were made. The MANHART Performance team in Wuppertal has now been able to transform one of these into a truly unique specimen: the MH4 GTR.
Manhart MH4 GTR Marlboro
With its white paint finish, styling in the BMW M colors and numerous carbon add-on parts, the 2016 DTM Champion Edition already has a very sporty and eye-catching appearance as standard. Nevertheless, the specialists at MANHART followed up with in-house add-on parts: The front is replaced by a spoiler and lateral apron approaches refined. They are also made of carbon, like the big one rear wing and the diffuser. A spoiler lip and mirror caps made of carbon are added from the M Performance Parts program. A real highlight is the MANHART foiling in the classic red and white Marlboro Motorsport design. Last but not least, the axles are fitted with silk-matt black MANHART Concave One rims in 9×20 and 10,5×20 inches. The mounted Michelin tires measure 255/35 ZR20 and 295/30 ZR20.
708 hp and 980 Nm maximum torque
While MANHART usually also optimizes the chassis, this time it remained in the standard condition, as did the BMW M carbon-ceramic brake system. In the meantime, things are very different with regard to the three-liter S55 biturbo in-line six-cylinder, which has been extensively refined: A MANHART turbo performance kit with turbo upgrade, a MANHARTIntercooler by CSF, MANHART replacement aluminum charging tubes and a MANHARTCarbon-sucking by ARMAspeed. In connection with a MANHART-ECU remapping instead of the factory 500 hp and 600 Nm now result 708 PS and 980 Nm maximum torque. And of course the MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with flap function and four carbon-coated 100-millimeter tailpipes could not be missing either.
on request: downpipes without catalytic converters
Rounding out are MANHART-Race-down pipes without catalytic converters on board, which, however, do not have TÜV approval and are therefore only intended for export. Already ex works with, among other things, Recaro carbonbucket seats and a Roll cage The MANHART team rated the very motorsport interior with an AwronAdditional display on. As usual, this replaces one of the central air vents in the cockpit. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
