Thanks to MANSORY, the elegant Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG convertible type A217 has even more charisma and is “fresher”! Exclusivity, passion and freedom - these three virtues are used by the manufacturers of sports yachts to get interested parties interested in their products. The well-known MANSORY company has now succeeded in bringing that certain something to the streets. At the GENEVA Motorshow 2017 in Geneva, the traditional company is now presenting the S-Class Cabrio to the public after the Coupe. Approx. 1 year earlier we were given the, limited to only six copies, S63 Coupé from the Platinum Edition the closed counterpart of the two-door S-Class is known to be presented. Now the company from Brand (Bavaria) has also succeeded in giving the Cabriolet a very individual touch. For this purpose, the already outdated, aerodynamic kit was completely redesigned and manufactured from the factory. The carbon components, which are unparalleled in terms of design and build quality worldwide, are manufactured by MANSORY in the company's own autoclave. The design of the new carbon fiber body is dominated by the side canards, the air ducts and the integrated, innovative LED daytime running lights.
The ultra-light bonnet supplies the intake stroke with additional fresh air by means of a NACA opening known from jet engines. Due to the lowering of the body, the distance between the chassis, which has been widened by 5 centimeters, to the asphalt has shrunk by 30 millimeters, which is very beneficial for the entire look and, of course, the dynamism. There is still no need to worry about unwanted turbulence, which could impair driving characteristics: the airflow between the two fenders of the open four-seater is significantly dampened by the built-in side skirts. The overall package is completed by new mirror housings, rear spoiler and a rear apron in diffuser design and improves the aerodynamics of the A217 in every respect. Incidentally, all aerodynamic components are either in liquid black or as visible cardboard parts in red. And the engineers involved in the development who work in the MANSORY engine department have fully met the expectations with regard to the brutal appearance. At the MANSORY company site in Affalterbach (Northern Bavaria), the top-of-the-line V8 biturbo has been completely refined and revised.
In addition, a stainless steel sports gas system ensures a low-pressure discharge after combustion through the angularly shaped tailpipes with a suitable soundscape. In combination with the optimization of the engine control, a phenomenal increase in power from 430 KW (585 PS) to 618 KW (840 PS) was achieved, which amazes every standard Lamborghini. So that the drive train is not destroyed, the extreme torque had to be throttled to a maximum value of 1.150 Newton meters during optimization, which we have seen from many tuners in recent years. The result of the optimization will still impress everyone interested: The MANSORY convertible accelerates from 3,5 to 0 km / h in just 100 seconds and continues to accelerate up to a speed of 300 km / h. From this point on, the electronic limitation prevents further acceleration in order to prevent loss of the hairstyle or even the hair 😂. MANSORY offers the 22-inch wheel models MULTISPOKE and SPYDER for the large convertible so that the performance can also be brought to the road. The elaborately manufactured forged wheels are able to reduce unsprung masses to a minimum. For optimal tire contact on the asphalt, MANSORY installs high-performance tires in 295 / 25ZR22 and front 255 / 30ZR2 for the rear axle. And even in the interior of the convertible, every tiny detail is refined in the style of a sports yacht and especially the combination of white and red leather, right down to the last corner, is the absolute highlight.
