Automotive refiners Kourosh Mansory and couturier Philipp Plein are once again cooperating on the individualization of a Mercedes G-Class: Already in 2011, the two exceptional designers presented a completely luxury-tuned Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG at the Geneva Motor Show. Striking body modifications as well as a lavishly wrapped in leather interior already documented the exclusive cooperation. And even at the Mercedes-AMG G 63, which is now being presented again in Geneva, vehicle refinement of the highest technical and design standard has been achieved. Very few people will be able to enjoy this unique vehicle named "Star Trooper 20th Anniversary Edition".
Mansory Mercedes G-Class (W463A / W464)
The noble off-road vehicle whose name alludes to the 20 anniversary of the luxury label Phillip Plein is strictly limited to only twenty copies. The price starts at 550.000 Euro including German VAT. As revolutionary as Philipp Plein has changed the world of fashion, Kourosh Mansory transforms luxury vehicles into exclusive, unique pieces. With their cooperation, the two designers are once again creating a unique off-road vehicle that combines luxury, individuality and top performance. The new body styling of the G-Class painted in the 50 Shades of Gray camouflage design impresses both visually and technically.
The complete aerodynamics are made of the front apron on the flares of the flanks to the rear apron made of carbon. But the ultralight and high-strength material alone is not enough for MANSORY to achieve the desired exclusivity. In the autoclave prepreg process, the carbon in a special pressure chamber is compressed so much that no air pockets remain in the material. Usually, this cost-intensive processing method is used only in the aerospace industry. But MANSORY has the depth of vertical integration of a genuine automobile manufacturer and, thanks to production in its own carbon plant, does not have to compromise on quality. Equally elaborate, the noble tuner makes the revision of the engine. Larger turbochargers, new downpipes and a high-performance exhaust system are adapted to the 4,0 Liter V8 unit with newly programmed electronics.
Star Trooper 20th Anniversary Edition
Instead of the 585 hp (430 kW) of the standard G 63 AMG, this now results in an impressive 850 hp (625 kW). The maximum torque increases from 850 to 1.000 Newton meters. This improves the sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour to just 3,5 seconds, and the top speed increases to 250 km / h. In order to bring this enormous power to the asphalt, the luxury refiner equips the 20th Anniversary with high-performance tires of size 295 / 30R24. They are carried by new, one-piece M23 forged wheels in 10 × 24 inches, which MANSORY is presenting to the world for the first time. Of course, the interior design is in no way inferior to the exclusive exterior.
For the covering of the interior, the saddlery of MANSORY allows only flawless leather. The perfectly lined with animal stitching and finished with hexagon quilting animal skins are characterized both by their longevity and by their very pleasant feel. The exquisite overall impression of the airbag sports steering wheel and the aluminum pedals is refined. Fine details such as carbon fiber applications combined with masterfully crafted Philipp Plein logos also document the artistic cooperation of the two companies in the interior.
