The desert racer CanAm Maverick, which is classified as an ATV and can inexorably dig through rough terrain, is the next victim of Mansory Edeltuner. The tuning company, which is based in the Upper Palatinate brand and which is usually known for refining luxury cars of all brands with a lot of carbon and unusual interiors, takes unusual paths and takes on the extremely puristic off-road flea from Canadian production. The result is the Mansory Xerocole, a dune buggy, which is intended to attract attention in the terrain with a lot of carbon and shrill paint.
Design is extremely puristic
As usual in this class, there are only rudimentary doors and no glazing, so it is recommended that you only move the Mansory Xerocole in the summer and when the weather is nice. With the free-standing wheels and the enormous 60 cm of travel, no obstacle is spared by the little climber. The interior of the all-terrain vehicle is also only equipped with the bare essentials to save as much weight as possible, because every gram carried in the field is only superfluous ballast, which causes the terrain properties to deteriorate. The two headlights look like the headlights of a motorcycle, and are only makeshiftly integrated into the sparse body. Mansory also replaced a lot of parts of the body with carbon parts, extended the roof to integrate additional LED lights, changed the front a little, and attached Mansory lettering to the rear.
Drive ensures a ridiculous weight to performance ratio
The Mansory Xerocole, which is known to be based on the CanAm Maverick, is powered by a 900cc three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine from Rotax, which was boosted to 225 HP by Edeltuner Mansory. The extremely low weight of less than 800 kg creates a power-to-weight ratio that is at the level of super sports cars. Equipped in this way, an extremely brisk off-road section can sometimes be completed, but on the road the vehicle is hopelessly overwhelmed due to its construction, and anything but sporty. The rough-treaded off-road tires, which are fitted as standard, also contribute to the fact that this vehicle is a pure fun vehicle, which brings a lot of fun to its occupants away from paved roads.
Who buys the Mansory Xerocole?
This fun is likely to be far too expensive for hunters and foresters, as the "normal" top version of the CanAm Maverick, the X3 RC Turbo RR, is already being sold in Germany for an exorbitant 33.999 euros. As you know it from Mansory, 20.000 euros are added for the tuning, which brings us to around 55.000 euros. In Germany, the clientele will probably keep themselves within very manageable limits for this expensive fun, but for example in the United Arab Emirates, where the solvent clientele of course cannot help but regularly take a trip to the desert Driven like the Mansory Xerocole makes perfect sense, because it embodies properties such as unsurpassed off-road mobility, sheer performance and a certain exclusivity, so that it is tailored precisely to the needs of rich customers in the Middle East.
