2020 Manthey Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR!

Tuner Manthey Racing has grabbed the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport and now optionally offers a tuning program for the Zuffenhausen-based company, which is intended for private racetrack events and clubsport events. So if you thought that the Cayman GT4 Clubsport was already perfect for private racetrack events and clubsport events, you were wrong. Because Olaf Manthey and his team still had a few ideas in mind that can now be seen on a vehicle. The tuner from Meuspath, very close to the Nürburgring, has lost a few kilos from the 718 and even increased safety at the same time. Manthey Racing donated the ultra-light coupe, namely a new safety net and additional door foam on the driver's side. And the changes - typically Manthey - also brought about a change in the nickname.

The converted 718 is now trading as "Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trackday MR". Fortunately, the full length of the designation is not visible on the stern. The Cayman would be too small for that. Instead, the factory “GT4 Clubsport” reference on the rump is expanded to include the letters “MR” for Manthey Racing. And if the additional letters can be seen on the rear of a 718 Clubsport, then you can call a Cayman GT4 your own, which weighs a whopping 46 kilograms less than the 1.320 kg production vehicle offered ex works. And how does Manthey do that? For example with new carbon aprons front and rear, there were fenders and a trunk lid made of carbon and even the windows are new. The windshield is now made of Polycarbonate and even the headlights have been replaced by lightweight specimens.

A light starter battery is also installed

For this purpose, the tuner installed a light one starter battery and with an additional front lip and a diffuser made of natural fibers, the lightweight construction measures are effectively rounded off. Furthermore, the air inlets are now equipped with a protective grille set and we would definitely like to mention the high-quality motorsport wheelset from BBS as well as the striking foiling. The tuner has only done nothing (so far) on the drive. In view of the fact that the 3,8 liter six-cylinder boxer already puts an impressive 425 hp on the road ex works, this should be bearable. This means that the very sophisticated Porsche setup continues to fit the six-speed PDK and the mechanical rear differential lock. And the chassis and all other components relevant to driving dynamics have not changed any further compared to the series.

Retail price of 173.884 Euro

After all, Porsche has set up an incredibly dynamic vehicle ex works. The weight reduction by Manthey is likely to give the Cayman the finishing touches and bring a few tenths. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport "Trackday" MR can now be purchased from Manthey-Racing at a retail price of 173.884 euros (including 16 percent VAT) can be bought. That is, however, an impressive 18.444 euros surcharge compared to the at least 155.440 euros expensive series GT Clubsport.
