Only relatively shortly after the introduction of the AMG GT, Mercedes pushed the 585 hp AMG GT R up. The answer to the Porsche GT3 had put the crown on the AMT GT series in 2017. The spearhead of the AMG model range at the time was specifically designed for use on the racetrack and brought all the experience from motorsport use in the AMG GT3 and the German Touring Car Masters onto the road. The result was a new lap record on the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife for production vehicles. With a price of at least € 165.000, the GT R was just under € 50.000 more expensive than the 462 hp base model. A heavy serve for an increase in performance and a little more sportiness. The boys and girls from mariani Car-Styling can be no less effective but significantly cheaper.

570 PS and 720 NM torque

They have one AMG GT (C 190) snapped and similarly trimmed for sportiness. Under the hood, the longitudinally installed biturbo V8 petrol engine (M 178 DE 40 AL) was upgraded from 510 PS and 650 Nm torque to an impressive 570 PS and 720 NM. In terms of performance, you are almost on a par with the GT R, but in terms of appearance, you even put a shovel on top. Because mariani donated a set of new rims to the white photo vehicle. And in the beefy wheel arches they look much more befitting the series and, in our opinion, even make the rims of the GT R look old. The reason for this is the impressive dimensions of the multi-divider. The AMG GT got huge 10j x 20 inches on the front axle and the rear axle is now even filled with powerful 12j x 21 inches with 305 tires.

Coil springs & aluminum rims

And since mariani also installed a set of coil springs, the wheelset also fits perfectly in the wheel arches. By the way, a coilover kit and wheel spacers are optionally available for the AMG GT and many other Mercedes vehicles. By the way: mariani can also optimize the acoustics of the Biturbo V8 on request. With a hand-made exhaust system that sounds much more befitting the class while keeping the original exhaust flaps. And how that sounds then, you will learn in the following video. If we receive timely information about further changes, there is of course an update for this report.
