The Italian luxury brand Maserati is presenting a special edition for the market launch of the new GranTurismo, based on the combustion engine variant Trofeo based. A total of 150 pieces will be built, which are available in two variants. Each version is only made 75 times, so exclusivity is guaranteed. The full name of the model is Maserati Gran Turismo Trofeo PrimaSeries 75th Anniversary Launch Edition. The lengthy name is pretty much self-explanatory when you consider that the edition was created to celebrate 75 years of Maserati Gran Turismos.
2 color configurations available
This series can be ordered in two color variants. The first combines the matte exterior color Grigio Lamiera Matte, which is a lighter shade of gray, with red accents on the badges and side air intakes. The package also includes alloy wheels with a black finish, which feature a red ring and look similar to classic Rotiform wheels. A "75th Anniversary" logo can be found on the central closure. The second configuration option is a matte black exterior finish called Nero Scarabeo Matte, which is combined with mint green accents. Both versions have carbon on the air intakes, a carbon spoiler lip on the rear and a carbon diffuser. And they benefit from the sportier look of the four-pipe exhaust system of the Trofeo version.
Luxurious interior with matching accents!
In the cockpit you will find a combination of black and gray leather, which, depending on the model, is color-coordinated with the paintwork and thus comes with either red or mint green decorative stitching. All four headrests sport a '75th Anniversary' logo in the same color as the 'Gran Turismo" lettering is embroidered. Of course, the two limited versions come with generous standard equipment. It includes a 12,2-inch (approx. 31 cm) driver information display with digital instruments, a 12,3-inch (approx. 31 cm) infotainment touchscreen and an 8,8-inch (approx. 22 cm) screen for operating the automatic climate control, the digital clock and the Sonus Faber audio system.
The car is powered by a 3-liter V6 twin-turbo petrol engine “Nettuno”.
Based on Maserati's trident emblem, the current V6 engine is called "Nettuno" (Italian for Neptune). The unit produces 557 hp and a maximum torque of 650 Newton meters. Together with the eight-speed automatic transmission, which transmits the power exclusively to the rear wheels, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes an incredible 3,5 seconds. The propulsion only ends at 320 kilometers per hour.
Our conclusion:
- The prices of the limited special series are not yet known, but they are likely to be significantly higher than the base price for the Trofeo series, which is €226.200 in Italy. Regardless of the price, the edition is an ideal collector's item for lovers of exclusive Italian automobiles. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
