Practical: Maserati Quattroporte Diesel Shooting Brake!

If you have one Porsche Boxster (986) for the shooting brake can rebuild, or even one Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, should that work with a Maserati Quattroporte? And this 2016 Quattroporte is the ultimate proof that it works. Because it was converted into an elegant Shooting Brake (station wagon) and is currently on the website and auction platform Classic Driver available for purchase in the UK. Officially, of course, the Quattroporte has never been in the form of a practical one Shooting Brake given, but about a decade ago, the team at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera srl dared to convert it to the melodious 'Bellagio Fastback' four times. The basis, however, was the older Quattroporte V (4–2003), which a British Maserati enthusiast now used as a template to build his very own Quattroporte Shooting Brake.

And this is the result!

And this is where the Quattroporte VI (since 2013) comes in Successor of the V the foundation stone for the conversion. And, as far as we know, the vehicle is absolutely unique. There is no other copy as a shooting brake based on the last generation of the Quattroporte. The unique piece was built by Adam Redding, who has experience in the restoration of Jaguar E-Types, Aston Martins, Lancias, Bristols, Dinos and other exotic species. And Redding also accepted the challenge for the unusual Shooting Brake conversion. The rear of the Italian sedan was completely disassembled and cut and a large part of the roof had to be removed. A tailor-made body was then designed and manufactured in a slim shape that made the car look the way Maserati would have built it. Incidentally, one of the biggest challenges of the entire project was the installation of the electric tailgate. But not the body part or its adaptation to the rest, but the elaborate electronics.

Base engine - 3,0-liter turbodiesel V6

After all, it should communicate perfectly with the factory control parts of the Italian. In total, the conversion took a good 1.500 working hours, but it was worth it. The result can be seen! Only the base engine in the form of the 3,0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 275 hp disappointed us somewhat. A Quattroporte S with V6 and 430 PS or maybe even the 530 PS Quattroporte GTS with V8 would have been much more interesting. The Gunmetal Gray Metallic paintwork and the Nero leather interior was again a good decision.
