There are the craziest creations when it comes to modifying a Mazda Miata (MX-5). It doesn't matter whether you have it in the style of a muscle car, a British roadsters or an Italian super athlete, with the help of various kits you can make all your dreams come true. With hardly any other car, the design options are as variable as with the MX-5, because the tuning imagination is known to have (almost) no limits. Only an SUV or a van will probably no longer be conjured up from the chic roadster in this life. Of course, the MX-5 is also popular in the global tuning scene, although it tends to eke out a shadowy existence in Europe, for example, when it comes to customization. But with an increasing number of tuned and modified copies of the roadster, the European tuning scene will certainly be aware of the Japanese's potential, and one day you may see more custom MX-5s on European roads.
Noble creation for fans of classic cars
This MX-5, which was given a Karmann Ghia-style front with the help of a pitcrew conversion kit, is kept in classic wine red, and the color, which comes from Mazda's color palette, is called Garnet Red Mica, and fits in our opinion perfect for the conversion kit with a retro design. But the front end isn't the only thing that has been modified on the Mazda, as it also received flared fenders to create a sportier look. In addition, a rear spoiler was attached and the front was completely cleared, so that you no longer know which car it is, since all emblems have also been removed. The copy we presented, which, by the way, was the one from Hong Kong Keith Law and does its rounds in Asia, also has an absolute highlight of 14-inch aluminum with a low-bed look and a chrome-colored tread that underlines the vintage look. This means that the MX-5 is not only a star on Instagram, but would also be an absolute eye-catcher and crowd puller at every tuning meeting.
The engine has remained standard.
Unfortunately, we don't know exactly which engine is driving, but we don't know that the engine has been modified. It is only clear that it is a suction gasoline engine that, despite its relatively low performance, offers a lot of driving pleasure, as the MX-5 weighs very little. This means that less power is required than with the competition to achieve the same driving performance.
Who is this Mazda MX-5 for?
In our opinion, the MX-5 with conversion kit from Pitcrew is something for car fans who want an old (English) roadster, but who shy away from the most vulnerable technology. A Mazda offers new technology at a reasonable price, and is known to be very robust and reliable as well as easy to repair, should something break. So presented, there is a touch of nostalgia in an MX-5, even though the Japanese was only introduced in 1989. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
