Even if many still claim the opposite, it looks like we have to consider a fully electric future in the automotive industry. Almost all manufacturers are already on the way with new vehicles and the owners of older vehicles already have some options for electric conversion. Companies like Zelectric Motors, RBW EV Classic Cars, ECD & Co. already have various kits at the start to convert gasoline-powered vehicles to electric drives. And the Mazda MX-5 will probably not be spared in the long run either. And since the factory-installed petrol engine is not known as a muscle man anyway, the conversion is particularly easy here. This MX-5 uses an electric drive developed by Zero EV, the current range of which is supposed to be around 160 km (100 miles).

And if electricity is used particularly sparingly, then even a greater range should be feasible. The currently installed setup comes with a 120 PS electric motor, which enables a torque of 230 Nm. This results in an acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph (97 km / h) in just 8,5 seconds, which roughly corresponds to the key data of a 1,8-liter MX-5 NB. And in the following video we even see a very special EV car. Namely a RWD Nissan Skyline R32! Check it out.
