The team around the chip tuner "Mcchip-DKR" has taken the current BMW M5 F90 (F5LM) to the chest. Two performance enhancements are now available as Stage 1 & Stage 2 tickle the maximum 775 PS & 900 NM torque from the Munich sedan. Stage 1 relies on pure chip tuning that provides a performance increase of 120 PS & 140 NM torque and thus conjures up 720 PS & 890 NM in the 5er. This includes an increase in the electronically governed top speed. Instead of the previous 305 km / h (with M Driver's Package) runs the Bayern Express so whopping 335 km / h.
Another number is clearer Stage 2 which cannot be ordered in the online shop at the moment. Mcchip-DKR has not yet published any further details on the difference to Stage 1. However, we assume that the increase in performance by an additional 175 PS & 150 NM for chip tuning will require a downpipe and possibly even a modified turbocharger. Incidentally, the top speed does not change any further compared to Stage 1. If we receive specific information about Stage 2 in a timely manner, there is of course an update for this report.
