McLaren Automotive is celebrating one of McLaren's greatest achievements in motorsport - winning the first outing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans - with a special model of the 720S Coupé. Of the total of 50 Le Mans versions available worldwide, only 16 will be available in Europe. The 720S Le Mans was launched to mark the 25th anniversary of the victory of the McLaren F1 GTR # 59 in the world-famous endurance race. The car driven by JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas and Masanori Sekiya took over the checkered flag on June 18, 1995. Three more McLaren F1 GTRs made it into the top five, with the win at Le Mans McLaren securing another place in motorsport history as the winner of the French 24-hour classic, the Formula 1 World Championship and the Indianapolis 500.
