Mechatronics Project 107 - Mercedes SL (R107) Restomod

Can you still use the recently presented Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC (R 107) with 2JZ power remember under the hood? We have now discovered an even more complex variant that is even being built by a German company and is now drawing attention to itself with the first Erlkönig pictures. Erlkönig pictures of a tuning car? It doesn't happen every day. Here too the basis of the successor to the pagoda is the Mercedes SL (SL R 107 or SLC C 107), but the conversion is much more complex. The vehicle is currently being built by the team from mechatronics from Pleidelsheim in Baden-Württemberg and could soon be launched in a small series. The company is a nationally and internationally known restoration company for Mercedes-Benz oldtimers that works very successfully according to the motto "The best or nothing". And there now seems to be an ultimate unique piece. The "Project 107"!

Maybe with AMG BiTurbo V8?

A Restomod Mercedes SLC that should carry a lot of modern technology under the hood. In any case, the pictures show a large brake system behind the black AMG rims and a modern V8 could work under the hood. Mechatronics is apparently again planting a lot of modern technology in a classic under the "New Tech" division! For example, a new chassis and also ABS and ASR. Two existing models already show that they can do that. There is already a Mercedes-Benz W 111 of the fintail series which is equipped as an M-Coupe / M-Cabrio with a 306 to 360 hp V8 (M 113). And then there is the M-SL which is built on the basis of the pagoda. Here, too, the V113 called M 8 with 4,3-liter displacement and 279 hp from the W210 E-Class is installed. It was later also used in the W220 S-Class and replaced the M 119 at the time.

unmistakably the SL base vehicle

The modern technology for the new project does not seem to change the classic look again. There should not be any significant differences from the original. The camouflage film shows that the SLC is growing a bit in width and the aprons also seem modified, but the basic shape of the base vehicle is certainly unmistakable. And in about a year Project 107 Mercedes SL / SLC already available as another copy of the New Tech Series. He will probably get a modern BiTurbo V8 and certainly a handsome price.
