Can you still think of that wrong Mercedes-Benz W204 project with E190 body of Piper Motorsport recall? Exactly this floor has now been finished! Piper Motorsport has actually managed to combine the chassis and drive of a C63 AMG sedan (W204) with an 80s Mercedes 190E. But not only that! The 190E was rebuilt to look like the legendary 190 Evo II and the V8 naturally aspirated engine was given a supercharger. In addition to the fabulous optics, the star also has really extreme power under the long classic bonnet. Incidentally, the tuner still calls the project "Frankenstein Benz". All in all, the renovation took 5 years. However, the vehicle was not a priority, but more of a "weekend project".

The engine of the C2015, the drivetrain, the chassis, the brakes, the dashboard and the underbody of the C63 AMG were combined with the still virgin body of the 63E as early as 190. Only later was the classic, after almost a year without any updates, the beautiful widebody kit of the 190 Evo II, the immediately reminded of the AMG-Mercedes 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II DTM touring car. Even the striking OZ rims have been installed and, thanks to a lowering, fitted perfectly into the widened wheel arches. Unbelievable that the 6,2-liter V8, which is almost twice as large as the factory four-cylinder, fits into the engine compartment.

Of course, the oil cooler, almost all parts of the front, the air conditioning condenser or the master brake cylinder had to be adapted accordingly. that goes without saying. And the chassis was also created entirely in-house. Here, for example, the suspension of the front shock absorbers was shortened by 20 millimeters on each side in order to somehow fit the chassis into the narrower body. Modern Horsepower and Borla Exhausts They were responsible for adjusting the massive 4 pipe sports exhaust system and Piper Motorsport is particularly proud of the center console, which was completely self-developed.

It includes the 7-speed automatic, the power windows and even the original W2048700579 Mercedes COMAND APS I Drive switch (A204) with full functionality. After the 1990-190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II body kit was completely adapted, it was painted in elegant black and, as already mentioned, a compressor was also installed on the 6,2-liter eight-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. From the factory 457 hp, 650-700 hp should not be unrealistic at all (Details are not known). With these key data is probably not even a current AMG GT-R finished. The Facebook album from Piper Motorsport currently includes almost 170 pictures, which you can look through in a huge gallery below. And we also found a short video. (Photos: Piper Motorsport)

Mercedes 190 E Evo II becomes a restomod based on the C 63:

  • Conversion to the Mercedes-Benz 190 E Evo II by Piper Motorsport
  • maintain the classic line of the W 201 aesthetically
  • Mechanicals and interior (including electrics) from the 63 C 8 AMG V2010 (seats are mechanically based on the original W 201 Recaro but feature steel reinforcements)
  • Front headlights with lenses (bi-xenon system of the C 63)
  • Alloy wheels with wide rim base (Evo II Design)
  • four tailpipes at the rear
  • entire body and doors reinforced (for sufficient torsional rigidity)
  • Engine: 6,2 liter V8 with (non-original) compressor with additional heat sink (in the trunk) of the C 63 AMG and various coolers
    – Set of modifications under the vehicle
  • 7G Tronic automatic transmission with torque converter
  • Modified upper suspension mounts to allow the KW setup to work in tandem with the large original C 63 brake system
