He was probably the most angular German middle-class model of the 70er years, the Mercedes W114 or W 115 (depending on the engine) of the rather known as "stroke-eight". Almost 2 million copies have been manufactured in Sindelfingen and that in only eight years of construction. And even today, the design of Paul Bracq still as we find. And just such a classic copy was now at the refiner Vilner to guest. A beautiful 250 CE with six-cylinder engine in the best condition. Of course, Vilner was again primarily responsible for the interior. Here you bet on a high-quality veneer that almost completely consists of ebony and originally belonged to a boat cabin.

More precisely, it comes from an Italian Riva Aquarama (luxurious wood runabout) which was mostly mahogany but also had ebony inserts. After the boat was stolen and almost completely destroyed, they decided to use at least the wooden remnants for the 250 CE. In combination with walnut wood Vilner has completely redesigned the interior. The end result is as always breathtaking and should convince the Saudi owner completely. In addition to the unique wood applications, there was a complete leather upholstery with a Becker Mexico retro-design high-end stereo and various LEDs even something present in the classic brings.

In the style of the current ambient lighting of a W222 S-Class, the interior has been provided with invisible LED strips, but this modification, in our opinion, is definitely a matter of taste, considering the vehicle. Another very noticeable detail is the stereo speakers. They come with perforated Lexan speaker covers with silver-gray bezels that can also be illuminated in blue on request. In addition, the door panels, the seats, parts of the dashboard or the entire center console are completely covered with hand-sewn smooth leather and the beautiful grain of the ebony and walnut wood mixture can be seen over a large area. The carpets in the footwells are also completely new and of course built by Vilner in hours of manual work. And the headliner, including the sun visors, is also new.

Here you are for the material Alcantara decided that it harmonizes perfectly with the rest of the interior. Even the beautiful steering wheel has been freshened up, making it an enviable eye-catcher in the cabin and impressively rounding off the interior. We cannot see any external optical changes compared to the series, but the 250 CE is clearly completely restored and in the best condition. If we receive timely information on further changes not mentioned so far, there will of course be an update for this report.
