The classic G was actually a military vehicle that was only later offered to civilians as an off-roader for private use. At the time, Mercedes wanted to set up a counterpart to the Land Rover vehicles but also annoy the Toyota Land Cruiser. And the Expedition Motor Company (EMC) has now buttoned up a rustic copy from 1990 and restauriert and completely rebuilt. And one at that 250GD. The tuner describes the conversion as history, how a rough former military war machine becomes a work of art. And the Expedition Motor Company is known for precisely such conversions. As already mentioned, this particular 250GD is a model from 1990 that the German NATO forces used in Afghanistan.

Hardtop & automatic transmission are possible

And while the tuner always comes up with a more modern version Hardtop, automatic transmission etc., this G has stayed as retro as possible and not equipped with it. He was fully restauriert and rebuilt and then in Sunset orange painted. There were also new ones Rims with All-terrain A / T tires from BF Goodrich and also the cabin and the one installed in the vehicle harness are completely new. The individual interior also has new ones Window seals and Seals there and a few novelties like one Air conditioning , and a Clarion sound system with four speakers there was also. The original is under the hood OM602 five-cylinder dieselconnected to a manual Five-speed dogleg transmission is coupled. It's not a power plant, but it's on Reliability hard to beat. Of course, it has also been thoroughly restored and with new parts (Crankshaft seals, cylinder head bolts, cylinder head gasket, timing belt, water pump, oil pan gasket, timing belt tensioner pulley, etc.) fitted.

Chassis and cab significantly revised

The chassis has also been completely redesigned and with new springs, shock absorbers, Urethane suspension bushings and new Tie Rods equipped. There was also a new one steering damper and on it went with improved Brake Lines, Fuel lines, converted Calipers as well as refurbished drums on the rear axle. Basically every detail has been revised again and the modern components already mentioned, as well as those count new headlights, round off the unique piece impressively.
