Mercedes 280 CE (W123) with Zender and AMG tuning

A W123 is absolutely exotic in the Mercedes tuning scene. Known for its longevity, but with the reputation of a taxi, it falls behind its successor generations in terms of popularity. The predecessor called / 8 (W114), which has already matured into a classic car, is also finding significantly more fans. That's why the W123 hangs somewhere between tree and bark, and has a harder time in the Mercedes fan scene than other models from the brand with the star. But exceptions prove the rule, and we have a modified one W123 coupe found for you that ran 126.000 kilometers and was recently listed on eBay in Germany. A major inspection was carried out before the auction to ensure that the next owner would enjoy the car.

Yellow oldie with some modifications.

In addition, the car has a full service history, has an H license plate and is a garage vehicle. Unfortunately, we do not know whether and at what price it changed hands in the end. But it does look a bit special, this W123, which with its yellow paintwork and the black stripes on the side stands out in local traffic like a sore thumb.

It also became a subtle one Body kit from Zender installed, that via a new one Front spoilerNew bumpers and a subtle one rear spoiler disposes. The rims of the car come from AMG and are named after them Aero I.. They are completely black, just like the large, upright radiator grille with the standing star. Unfortunately, we do not know what format the Alus have and which tires have been fitted. That’s what the coupe has Lowering springs from H&R as well as new shock absorbers that give the Benz a sportier road holding.

Visually, however, the lowering is hardly noticeable, as it is only a few millimeters that the car is closer to the asphalt. In our opinion, you have to be a bit extroverted to want to cruise through the countryside in this classic Benz, because subtle is definitely different.

The interior is full of luxury from the 80s.

The interior looks like new, and includes a AMG sports steering wheel as well as one Zebrano burl trim. Along with the black one All-leather appointments the luxury of the 1980s is brought to life again in the vehicle. Everything is in perfect condition and even the leather on the seat covers is neither cracked nor worn.

2,8-liter R6 petrol engine provides propulsion

It hits under the hood R6 heartthat runs on gasoline and comes standard 185 PS and 240 Newtonmeter provides maximum torque. The power is transmitted via a Four-stage automatic to the rear wheels, and the performance is still impressive today. In 9,9 seconds the classic sprints from 0 to 100 km / h, and the top speed is exactly 200 kilometers per hour. This means that the W123 Coupé is definitely not a lame pickle, but can still show the taillights of many modern cars today if you give it a go.

Our Conclusion about this 1983 Mercedes 280 CE:

Condition and tuning are great, the exterior color unfortunately rather a flop from our point of view. Tastes are known to be different, and so this Mercedes should also find its fans.
