Mercedes-AMG A 35 and CLA 35 as "Edition 55"!

AMG is celebrating its 55th birthday - and customers can be part of it with exclusive special models. After the "Edition 55" based on the G-Class, "Edition 55" versions are now available for the compact class: A 35 4MATIC compact sedan, A 35 4MATIC sedan, CLA 35 4MATIC Coupé and CLA 35 4MATIC Shooting Brake. An exclusive foil in the design of the AMG crest is reminiscent of the history of the sports car and performance brand. Additional equipment such as the 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, the AMG fuel filler cap in silver chrome with "AMG" lettering and the decorative element in dark aluminum "Edition 55" design set strong accents and emphasize the individuality of the special models. The anniversary models can be ordered from now until November 2022.

the "Edition 55"

The "Edition 55" models are characterized by their lavish equipment. The sophisticated AMG aerodynamics package draws attention at first glance. It includes a front apron with an enlarged front splitter and additional flics, an AMG rear wing, side flow separation edges on the rear apron's optical air outlets and the diffuser blade, all in high-gloss black.

The components developed in the wind tunnel improve the driving characteristics at high speeds and lay the foundation for even better driving performance. The fixed AMG rear wing is a clear statement of the desire for uncompromising driving dynamics. The AMG Night Package and the AMG Night Package II also reinforce the dynamic appearance of the "Edition 55" models. The front splitter and trim elements on the slats in the outer air intakes, the inserts in the AMG side skirts, beltline trim strip, window line trim strip and the exterior mirror housings are in high-gloss black. There are also tailpipe trims in black chrome and heat-insulating, dark-tinted glass.

Slats of the AMG-specific radiator grille as well as type designations on the boot lid and fenders, each in high-gloss black, complete the exclusive appearance. Another distinguishing feature of the "Edition 55" special models for the compact class is the paintwork in cosmos black metallic or digital white metallic. In line with this, the coloring of the foiling on both sides of the vehicle with the traditional AMG crest and indicated AMG rhombus runs from gray to transparent. Exciting contrasts are created by the 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a multi-spoke design with a matt titanium gray finish and a high-sheen rim flange. The AMG tank cap in silver chrome with AMG lettering also demonstrates great attention to detail. The interior is characterized by the contrast in black and red. The AMG Performance seats are upholstered in two-tone leather, classic red/black. The AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre with "Edition 55" badge and black 12 o'clock marking commemorates the 55th birthday of the brand.

AMG door sill finishers with AMG lettering illuminated in red and black AMG floor mats made of high-quality velor with red contrasting stitching and “Edition 55” lettering woven in red visibly upgrade the special models right down to the footwell. The exclusive ambience of the interior is rounded off by the AMG dark brushed aluminum "Edition 55" design with accents in black/red and AMG logo. The scope of delivery also includes a tailor-made AMG indoor car cover in elegant black with a silver-colored AMG logo at the level of the upper edge of the windscreen. With its breathable outer skin made of tear-resistant synthetic fiber fabric and the anti-static inner fabric made of flannel, it protects the vehicle from dust and scratches in the garage. The exclusive special models can now be ordered with the "Edition 55" equipment package at an additional cost of 12.614 euros[2].

55 years of Mercedes‑AMG success story

The company, founded in 1967 by the engineers Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, has continued to expand its position as an extremely successful performance and sports car brand through numerous successes in motorsport and the development of unique road vehicles. Today, the Affalterbach-based company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes‑Benz Group AG and the sporting spearhead of the group. The focus of each of the now more than 2.000 employees is the brand promise "Driving Performance", which combines the core strengths of AMG: cutting-edge technology and a passion for dynamic, emotional products.

The current portfolio of Mercedes‑AMG includes more than 50 vehicles with a performance spectrum from 225 kW (306 hp) to 620 kW (843 hp). The selection ranges from derivatives in different body types to completely independently developed sports cars such as the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door or the new Mercedes-AMG SL. The drive range has also been continuously developed in line with market requirements and customer requests and currently offers efficiency-optimized combustion engines with four, six or eight cylinders. In addition, Mercedes‑AMG is consistently pursuing the path of the future of driving performance: Hybrids with a unique drive layout and technology from Formula 1 are available under the E PERFORMANCE label. The portfolio also includes fully electric AMG derivatives based on the Group's own EVA2 platform. Completely independent battery-electric AMG models based on the new electrical architecture (AMG.EA), developed entirely in-house, will also follow in the near future.

His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
