One of the most beautiful vehicles from the Mercedes-Benz repertoire is definitely the current E-Class Cabriolet with the internal designation A 238. The technically identical E-Class Coupé (C 238) was presented in 2016 and the open temptation has been at least since known at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. But this time the successor to the A 207 is not based on the C-Class, but on the W 213 or S 213 of the 213 series. And you notice that immediately. The “upper middle class” convertible looks much more grown-up and the 4 full-size seats are almost a rarity these days. And especially as the 6-cylinder E 400 4MATIC with 333 PS & 480 NM, the luxury liner is almost perfect. But only "almost"! The difference to the series is serious and gives the elegant E400 a completely new appearance. And of course the built-in sports exhaust system with tailpipes in the well-known E63 AMG look also has a part in the successful look. And the performance of the V6 BiTurbo also tends towards AMG (M 276 DEH 30 LA). The Mariani gave it a performance increase to 410 PS and 580 Nm torque and is therefore almost at the level of the AMG E 53 4MATIC + top model. An impressive vehicle that stands out from the crowd but at the same time maintains the necessary understatement of this vehicle class.
