The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+ is one of the most popular luxury SUVs in the world, making it the perfect basis for a new BRABUS supercar! With the BRABUS 800, the Bottrop-based car manufacturer and refiner is presenting a fascinating high-performance variant that leaves nothing to be desired. The eight-cylinder engine with two turbochargers is upgraded with the BRABUS PowerXtra B40S-800 performance upgrade. 588 kW / 800 hp and a maximum torque of 1 Nm give the all-wheel drive car an exceptionally high driving performance: only 000 seconds from standstill to 3,8 km/h make it just as unique in its category as the top speed, which can be electronically increased to 100 km/h. h is limited.

This high-end SUV also demonstrates its sporty qualities visually: the designers at BRABUS developed attractively styled and aerodynamically efficient visible carbon body components that are visually perfect with the new BRABUS Monoblock M "PLATINUM EDITION" high-tech forged wheels in 24 inches harmonize diameter. Equally exclusive is the personalization of the interior with a BRABUS fine leather interior that has been perfectly finished down to the last detail.

This top-class SUV is named after the BRABUS 800 version of the four-liter V8 biturbo engine that powers the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63: 138 kW / 188 hp and 150 Nm more torque are available after the conversion. Two BRABUS special turbochargers with a larger compressor unit and a modified trunk group with stronger axial bearings deliver a maximum of 1,6 bar boost pressure. Not only did the electronic boost pressure control have to be reprogrammed for this. In addition, new maps for injection and ignition were programmed as part of extensive test bench runs and extensive test drives. The modified software is imported into the engine management system by the BRABUS PowerXtra module using plug-and-play technology.

The professional execution of the development, characteristic of BRABUS, not only guarantees a significantly increased performance, but also flawless stability. BRABUS documents this with the exemplary BRABUS tuning guarantee for 3 years up to 100.000 kilometers (according to BRABUS guarantee conditions, as of July 2013). BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL.

800 PS and 1.000 NM torque

588 kW / 800 PS at 5 rpm and the enormous maximum torque of 900 Nm in just 1.000 tours give the BRABUS 3 performance that is outstanding for a vehicle of this size: it sprints more than 500 tons from a standing start heavy SUV to 800 km / h in just 2,6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 3,8 km / h due to the weight of the vehicle. If you also want an acoustic treat, you can choose the BRABUS 100-pipe stainless steel high-performance exhaust system with exhaust flap control. It offers active sound management, because at the push of a button you can switch between robust V280 sound in sport mode or discreet whispering in "Coming Home" mode.

Of course, the aerodynamics, tires and chassis are also adapted to the enormous performance potential of the BRABUS 800. The designers at the Bottrop-based tuner developed perfectly fitting body components for the top model of the GLS-Class, which not only make the SUV look sportier, but are also aerodynamically efficient.

The BRABUS front spoiler, which is attached to the lower part of the apron, not only gives the SUV an even more distinctive appearance. At high speeds, its shape reduces the lift on the front axle, which leads to further improved driving stability. The side air inlets in the front bumper are upgraded with tailor-made air ducts. These BRABUS components are made of carbon fiber with either a high-gloss or matt seal, as are the two air inlets in the radiator grille, which also has an illuminated BRABUS emblem and red signature stripes.

In order to make the wheel arches sportier, there are tailor-made BRABUS exposed carbon attachments. The BRABUS diffuser insert for the rear apron is made from the same high-tech compound, which perfectly stages the four BRABUS tailpipes in carbon / titanium look, which are also offered for combination with the standard exhaust system. On request, the icing on the cake is a BRABUS roof spoiler made of PUR-R-Rim.

In the large wheel arches of the GLS-Class there is maximum space for forged 24-inch wheels. The supercar shown here rolls on the newly developed BRABUS Monoblock M "PLATINUM EDITION" high-tech forged wheels in size 10Jx24. Through the use of CAD technology and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, these wheels, which look even larger due to their disc design, offer maximum strength. BRABUS technology partner Continental is contributing the right high-performance tires for this. Low-profile tires of dimension 295/35 ZR 24 are driven all around.

In order to further optimize the driving dynamics and to make the look even sportier by lowering it, the BRABUS chassis engineers developed a special control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension that lowers the BRABUS 800 and every standard GLS 63 by approx. 25 millimeters.

The luxury equipment of the supercar shown here naturally also includes a classy BRABUS fine leather interior. Matching the black paintwork, the BRABUS master upholsterer used the enormous know-how to create the interior in particularly soft and breathable black leather with gray contrasting stitching. The seat surfaces and inner parts of the door panels were stitched to the millimeter in the Arrow Wave design and perforated with just as much accuracy. To match the red BRABUS accents on the engine cover and body, the perforated areas were backed with red fabric, which gives the leather interior a very special touch.

The sporty character of this vehicle is also emphasized by exposed carbon fiber elements on the dashboard and door panels, as well as aluminum pedals and door pins. For even more precise gear selection when manually operating the SPEEDSHIFT nine-speed automatic transmission, there are special aluminum paddles in the BRABUS RACE design on the steering wheel. The BRABUS 800 is built to order according to the customer's wishes. Alternatively, every GLS 63 can be completely or gradually converted to this level.
