While the public test drives with the Mercedes-Benz SL 300 racing car were still carried out on the A81 motorway, nowadays the Mercedes-AMG engineers go on test drives on a cordoned off and special test site in snow-covered Sweden.

Even if the 2 + 2-seater roadster has undergone a large part of its development in digital form, a certain proportion of analog development drives is inevitable. For example, the fully variable 4MATIC + all-wheel drive, with which the SL is also being offered for the first time, is finalized in winter climes. The newly developed fabric roof also has to face the harsh conditions near the Arctic Circle. And the roadster icon, which is making its debut this year, will soon be getting the final touches in terms of driving dynamics - including on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. On the most demanding racetrack in the world, the specialists from Mercedes-AMG ensure that the latest interpretation of the SL returns more to its sporty roots.
