Classic: Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC with Airride chassis!

Rob Derns has a passion for that Mercedes C126 from the 80s and 90s. A car that movie stars, gangsters and rock stars drove and that has featured in countless films on the big screen. Years later, Rob decided he wanted one Mercedes 560 SEC with a lot Tuning parts want to create myself. And the background for this copy is very special! Because the conversion is based on one 1/24 scale toy model. A scale model car that was on the shelf of a friend's room. After Rob saw the little car, the internet hunt for photos for the conversion began. Rob says: "My idea was to bring my friend's miniature model into reality". And that's exactly what happened! The vehicle is for at least 80% restauriert and new aufgebaut and also enjoys a refurbished one M117 V8 power unit (which engine exactly is currently unknown) as well as one overhauled automatic.

An necessary repair in the area of the rear window and that Replacing the fenders was the most difficult task. On the other hand, it was easier to paint in the factory Obsidian black to apply to the flawless body. In the interior, Rob tried to keep the Mercedes elements as much as possible, but the seats and most of the panels were replaced. Just that Nardi steering wheel has nothing to do with the series, but looks wonderful with the elegant wooden wreath and fits like a fist on the eye. Incidentally, the already mentioned V8 expresses itself acoustically by means of a AMG sports exhaust system with two classic tailpipes on the left. The real highlights are not the clean body, but the Lowering and of course the beautiful one wheelset. With regard to the lowering, Rob relies on Air Lift Performance 3P air suspension, whose control was installed on the center console.

BBS RS and Axia Gotti rims at the SEC

As for the alloy wheels, Rob actually had it two wheel sets in the head. On the one hand the classic BBS RS and on the other hand the sporty one Axia Gotti. It got there in the end beide. And in the same dimensions! Both measure 10,5 inches in the front and 12 inches in the back. The Gotti is reminiscent of the AMG aero rim from back then and the RS gives the 560 SEC a particularly sporty look. We can have a real favorite do not matter. And so it apparently happened to Rob. If we get more information about the changes, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to.
