RACE! South Africa Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG on HRE Alu's

Hard to believe that the Mercedes-Benz 221 series (Top class vehicle from Mercedes) was built from September 2005 to June 2013. That was again 12 years ago, which you definitely don't see on the luxury steamer! It officially succeeded the 220 series, production of which began in early 1998 and which was the elegant counterpart to the BMW E65 7 series, which took some getting used to. Sales were then discontinued at the end of 2005 and the 9th generation of the S-Class was allowed to enter service. The general public was able to marvel at them for the first time at the IAA in September 2005 and the first vehicles went on sale in autumn. In May 2009 there was a facelift, the adapted headlights, new bumpers, the familiar Pre-Safe brake which now has a fully automatic emergency braking function, or the S 400 HYBRID included. About the history of the W221 series ... 😋😇 But now about this special specimen from the South African tuner RACE! South Africa was put on a matt black set of HRE Performance Wheels alloy wheels of the type S104 in 22 inches.

Through the spokes of the rims you can see color-contrasting brake calipers in light blue and the Pirelli PZero tires, with their red lettering, also skilfully stand out. The elegant sedan looks much sportier because all chrome details have been removed and replaced with black. A carbon front spoiler & rear diffuser was also installed and in conjunction with a subtle lowering, the set-up looks much more dynamic. Other changes include new headlights with black inlays and clearly darkened taillights. In addition, the fenders now have integrated gills and these also contribute to the sporty impression. All in all, the changes are only very subtle, but the combination of everything makes a clear difference compared to the production vehicle. If we get more information about the modifications to the W221, there is of course, as always, an update for this report.
