Gone are the days of the factory armored Mercedes G-Class. For the future, the company will no longer rely on the off-roader when it comes to vehicle armor, but rather on the brand new one S-Class. And as an indomitable luxury liner, it is now supposed to transport heads of state from A to B. In principle, anyone can buy the rolling safe. And of course the armored version is no coincidence. The German premium manufacturers have been setting the tone for armored sedans all over the world for decades. Whether Audi with the A8, BMW with the 7 Series or the X5 or now Mercedes with the current S-Class. In addition to the normal luxury limousines as the measure of all things, the manufacturers have long been setting the benchmark in the field of highly secured armored versions. It is true that for the first time since the 733i of the E23 generation, BMW no longer has a sedan-based heavy tank in its range, as mentioned above X5 (G05) as Protection VR6 should take over the task without any problems. And Audi continues to rely on the factory armored A8 state limousine from Chancellor Angela Merkel.

And now Daimler is coming up with a tank version of the W223 Mercedes S-Class. But it is only available as a long version and only with the 450 kW / 612 PS / 830 Nm V12 turbo engine from the Maybach. Too good German: it is only available as the current S-Class top model! The vehicle comes with the Protection class VR10 (VPAM VR10) and thus fulfills the highest ballistic test level for civil vehicles.

So you are not only against the corresponding Explosive charges protected, even the bombardment with Assault rifles with steel hard core ammunition and the attack with Hand grenades can be repelled. While the production time of the heavily armored Mercedes S-Class is still bearable at 51 days, the purchase price is around 547.000 Euros a tough number, of course. Incidentally, the protective mechanisms of the S-Class cannot be seen visually.

various additional options are available

Under the sheet metal there is an ingenious basic construction made of overlapping Armored steel with special fibers and in addition arm-thick slices with integrated robust foils. But this increases the weight to over four tons and the top speed is up in terms of bulletproof tires 210 km/h limited. There is also a hidden one Blue light, an integrated Fire extinguishing system up to the electric closing aid for the mighty Armored doors. By the way, as a driver you should note that you have a Truck license needed to Security class to be allowed to drive. If we get more information about the changes, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply our Feed subscribe to.
