The SCCA Trans Am Series has long since achieved cult status. And vehicles like this one Mercedes-Benz 450 SL from 1982 show why that is so. And this same vehicle can soon be on an upcoming Mecum auction in Kissimmee, Florida, January 6-16, 2022. The racing car is that R107 SL modeled after, but, like all Trans Am cars from back then, was built from the ground up for racing. That is why there is a specially made one under the cover Tubular frame chassis and the SL dress is one GRP body with large front and rear spoiler.
