Mercedes C-Class with height-adjustable H & R spring systems

For the first time, the Sauerland chassis professionals from H&R now have height-adjustable spring systems in their range for different models of the current Mercedes C-Class (W205). These spring systems were developed for the ever-growing group of automobiles that are factory-fitted with adaptive chassis or hardness-adjustable dampers. H&R is now supplying the innovative components for a large number of vehicles and, as is usual at H&R, of course a parts certificate and "Made in Germany" comes with every time. For example, the Audi A4, A5, Q5, SQ5 and R8 series have been considered. But the example vehicles of the current Mercedes C-Class shown here, including various AMG models and cars such as the BMW M2, M3, M4 or X5M, as well as a lot of Porsche models can now receive the H&R Parts. Other brands and models are already in development.

Fine tuning for series shock absorbers

By means of the well thought-out adjustment mechanism of the H&R HV spring systems, the H&R engineers, using the adaptive series dampers installed ex works, made it possible to continuously lower the center of gravity of the vehicle without adapting the control electronics and without functional restrictions. The tested setting range is up to 50 millimeters (depending on the vehicle model). Such a lowering of the body can otherwise only be achieved with classic coilover kits. H&R has tailored the HV spring systems to the specific damper characteristics and the respective series shock absorbers. This allows the advantages of adaptive chassis technology to be used perfectly. In addition to the significantly sportier look, the lower center of gravity of the vehicle results in a noticeable increase in driving dynamics that many car fans want to achieve.
