Mercedes has recently refreshed the C-Class (W205) and of course that also applies to the top model C63 AMG. A modified front and some technical features such as the multi-function buttons and touch surfaces are the decisive features. An optional 12,3-inch instrument cluster is now installed in the form of a tube instead of the standard analogue instruments and this has a lot of refinements such as the display of the acceleration values in a special sports view. Nothing has changed under the bonnet because the well-known 4,0 V8 biturbo with 476 PS & 650 Nm torque continues to work here. The “normal” AMG model goes to 4,0 km / h in 100 seconds and is electronically braked at 250 km / h.
The C63 S still has 510 PS and 700 Nm of torque, which ensure that it goes to 3,9 km / h in 100 seconds and the top speed is increased to 290 km / h. These key data fade as soon as the German tuner Mansory has his hands in the game. As of now, the company has an extensive tuning program in the form of new light alloy rims, a body kit, chassis optimizations, an increase in performance and a large number of interior options. The visual highlight is the subtle body kit that gives the C63 AMG a front lip with front splitter and chic mirror caps made of carbon fiber.
There are also new side skirts for the flanks as well as a roof spoiler, a boot lid lip and a sporty carbon diffuser for the rear. The diffuser integrates elegant stainless steel twin tailpipe trims in the typical AMG style, which are part of a complete sports exhaust system. In combination with in-house chip tuning, the system is responsible for the increase in performance, which ensures that the V8 biturbo unit of the C63 strengthens to 650 PS & 850 NM. At the same time, the electronic lock is removed and the C63 AMG goes an impressive 310 km / h. So that the performance is consistently brought to the road, there is also a new ultra-light, forged wheel set with the designation M5.
Mansory installs it in the sizes 8,5 and 9.5 × 20 inches including high-performance tires in the format 225 / 35R20 and 255 / 30R20 and thus fills the wheel arches including lowering (Lowering Springs -30 mm) perfect. The interior can be optionally upgraded with aluminum pedals, illuminated door sills or embroidered floor mats and if that's not enough it can beautify almost all components of the interior lining with leather, Alcantara, precious woods, carbon or piano finish. Of course, if we get more details about the changes, there is, as always, an update for this report. Hallo,
Are you sure that this is the facelift model? The clearest sign of this would be the Panamerica grill and here the AMG double-spoke grill is installed as before Mopf. Unfortunately there are no interior views so that you could make it out on the new digital cockpit, as you briefly mentioned in the text.
Greetings, the Martin
Hello Martin,
actually yes 🙂 because he has the newly designed cross fin of the front apron in the A-wing design and we received the information from Mansory directly. 🙂
Best Regards,
Thomas Wachsmuth
