Formerly notorious as a taxi or pensioner vehicle, the E-Class is also becoming increasingly popular with young car fans, and various tuners from all over the world show what you can get out of the model visually and technically. Subtle tuning in AMG style
It is not as extreme as a real AMG-Benz, this E300L, although it has been given a hefty helping of Affalterbach style to turn the rather staid chauffeur limousine into a vehicle that tuners will also like. Garnished with black niche rims in 19-inch format and a very discreet rear spoiler, the taxi limousine so popular in Germany, which in China mainly serves to bring stressed managers from A to B, suddenly becomes a cool object of desire. The four-pipe exhaust system also contributes to this, which is similar to that found on the small all-wheel drive AMG models, which are based on the front-wheel drive platform of the A-Class. Of course, dark-tinted headlights were also allowed to find their way into the long version to signal that this is a very special example. As bad as the Benz looks, in our opinion it would also be well equipped for a Star Wars. We don't know if this will ever break out, but we can definitely say that with this vehicle you belong to the stars at every Benz meeting, because in our opinion it has been modified and refined in a highly professional manner.
With the help of a Racechip GTS Black, the tuner tickles even more power out of the Benz.
The E300L is powered by a 2-liter turbo gasoline engine, which, with its 245 hp and 370 Newton meters of maximum torque, offers very decent performance. As standard, the China-Benz sprints from standstill to 6,5 km / h in 100 seconds, and the top speed is a sealed off 250 kilometers per hour. But now comes the highlight of the Benz, because it has been increased in performance by 54 hp and 50 Newton meters with the help of a Racechip GTS Black. The result is an output of 299 hp and 420 Newton meters, which makes it exactly on the level of a VW Phideon V6 lies. Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the driving performance after chip tuning, it should certainly be decent and easily sufficient for everyday use, especially since there are strict speed limits in China that everyone must adhere to.
Our conclusion on this vehicle:
We have to pay a big compliment to the tuner, because the Benz is really perfectly modified and should please every car fan. It doesn't matter whether you are a Mercedes-Benz fan or not. Should you also want to start such a project, then for better or worse you have to fall back on the short E-Class, as the long version can only be found in Asia and it is very expensive to import a long E-Class. In addition, the 13,5 cm extra length is not decisive in everyday life and is hardly noticeable.
