For those who don't know - the Mercedes G-Class is actually still available with a different engine than the G63 AMG! For example, there is the G350d that we have here from the tuner Schawe Car Design to see the look of the "Edition 463". However, the "entry-level model" G350d with three-liter V6 diesel engine no longer differs from the V8 top model. The Schawe Car Design GmbH from Waltrop (near Dortmund) has had to do a lot for it. In order to achieve the deceptively real conversion to the appearance of the AMG G63, all original Mercedes components of the V8 version had to be connected to the 350er. So there were the front and rear, the typical AMG aprons and also the matte silver stainless steel underrun protection Edition 463.

The popular exhaust pipes of the Sidepipes exhaust system have also been installed. And even little details like that 463 Edition Stickers above the side skirts or the lettering on the fenders and on the rear can now be found. And so that the diesel also sounds like a V8, there was an active sound system that emits a pithy, aggressive sound via speakers. Everything is visually staged with the matt black Y-spoke rims with gloss-turned horn, which are of course also OEM goods. They were optionally available for the Edition 463 and are covered on the G350d in the dimensions 10 × 21 inches with Continental slippers in the format 295/40 ZR21.

And if you look closely you can also see a large braking system. There was an AMG six-piston system with huge perforated and ventilated discs from Brembo. It ensures optimal deceleration values. And the interior has also been refined quite clearly. There are many components (especially on the dashboard and on the center console) which were coated with carbon and in addition a chic bottom flattened leather steering wheel with inserts made of carbon. An in-house development, however, is the through center console in the G-Class. It comes, for example, with control unit for the Radio Command multimedia system.

The acoustics in the interior are taken care of by a new sound system and there was even a subsequent GPS location and an alarm system. The “G” also impresses with its multi-contour seats and nice gimmicks such as a video player with screens in the front headrests. Almost everything is covered with a leather interior with quilted seams in a diamond pattern. Tuning in perfection!
