After we already in the year 2015 reported about it and the ARES performance The current G-Class (G63 AMG) imagines completely differently, of course we wanted to mention that a new model is at the start. And while the old model didn't really look wrong in the virtual pictures, one somehow got the impression with the real vehicle that the red pencil was once again applied to some corners and edges.

But now is the year 2017 and based on the W463 series, the "facelift" is coming. And we have to admit that the second attempt somehow looks more successful. The front, in particular, with its new bumper including a large integrated bull catcher and the eye-catching radiator grille is much more relaxed than the first generation. In our opinion, the lines appear clearer and more targeted, and that continues at the rear.
What has remained is the side section, which is barely changed, particularly at the level of the windows, and continues to give rise to a small amount of Hummer H3 flair. But even here, the design is quite acceptable, but in our opinion, not as distinctive and stylish as that of the standard G-Class. The danger of being confused with an all-weather SUV is somehow present, especially when looking sideways. The rest of the vehicle is optically virtually unchanged from the first variant and so here is the large hood including power domes with air vent, the roof structure including LED auxiliary lights, the large side skirts or the massive spare wheel cover on the rear door installed.
When wheelset, the old model was on large three-piece 24 Zöllern and again, this should probably be the case. The highlight of the complete conversion is actually the fact that the new body parts allegedly contribute to make the G-class whopping 200 kg lighter and with even more luxurious equipment compared to the production vehicle. Also known from then is the brilliant increase in performance of 5,5-liter V8 BiTurbo the rich 760 PS allows and thus raises the maximum speed of the G63 AMG at 250 km / h.
And as already mentioned, the interior is completely redesigned and there is, for example, a redesigned, and very luxurious, dashboard, two VIP seats in the rear which are separated by a center console / armrest and of course in every corner Nappa leather and a lot of carbon. Although currently no prices are known, but it should hardly be a problem to crack the 600.000 € mark. Of course, if we get more details about the changes, there is, as always, an update for this report.
