Digital and analog luxury in harmony
The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is based on the fundamentally new interior design of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The instrument panel, center console and armrests form a sculptural unit that appears to float over a spacious landscape. Small but subtle differences take luxury to a new level.
With the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, digital and analog luxury are in harmony in the interior, a high-tech ambience is combined with fine natural materials and craftsmanship. Up to five screens are available. A 12,8-inch OLED central display as a high-tech command center is standard on board. With OLED technology, the individual pixels are self-luminous. Unused image pixels simply remain switched off and thus appear deep black. Active OLED pixels, on the other hand, are more colorful than their LCD counterparts. Another advantage is high contrast values - regardless of the viewing angle and lighting conditions. On request, there is a 12,3-inch 3D driver display with a three-dimensional representation of other road users and striking depth and shadow effects.
The dial is embossed with a decorative structure, the scaling was implemented in a classic Antiqua font. Mercedes-Maybach-specific start-up animations were designed for the driver and central displays. The special look of the driver's display in the Exclusive display mode underpins the special position of the Mercedes-Maybach. The surrounds of the round instruments and the hands are in the brand's typical rose gold color.
This color is also used in the active ambient lighting (special equipment), i.e. in the animated LED running lights with intelligent comfort and safety functions. With rosegold white and amethyst glow, the active ambient lighting includes two more color worlds compared to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. There are also additional functions in the Mercedes-Maybach: The so-called “Welcome” pre-setting greets the passengers with a special light setting. A carpet of light runs across the vehicle, with the focus on the rear doors. And “ignition on” is accompanied by an “engine start” animation around the driver's display. A special white is used for both functions and not the last individually selected color.
There is also plenty of classic luxury on board: the large trim parts of the front seats are striking. Noble wooden shells nestle around the back of the driver and front passenger seats and make them look like spacious lounge chairs. When equipped with the first-class rear, a similarly distinctive wooden trim sits between the two rear passengers.
The seats take up the layered design theme of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class seats and have an even more exclusive design with progressive diamond quilting and double seams. A special color combination reserved for the Mercedes-Maybach in the interior in conjunction with Exclusive Nappa Maybach leather is designo crystal white with silver gray pearl.
The Maybach brand logo adorns the stainless steel pedal system, the cushions of the headrests, the backrests of the driver and front passenger and - in connection with the first-class rear - it can be found between the rear seat backrests. The brand lettering differentiates the steering wheel and welcomes all passengers on the stainless steel door sills.
The exclusive package ensures a special ambience. Almost all surfaces are covered with exquisite nappa leather, the roof lining with the high-quality microfiber material DINAMICA. Additional decorative elements perfectly complement this extraordinary value.
The optional high-end interior package offers automotive luxury close to perfection. It includes first class rear, comfort doors at the rear, MBUX high-end rear entertainment, Burmester® High-end 4D surround sound system, active ambient lighting, adaptive rear lighting, folding tables in the rear, rear seat comfort package including seat air conditioning, seat belt feeder in the rear, MBUX augmented reality head-up display, designo backrest trim in wood, warmth comfort package, Beltbag, USB package plus and AIR-BALANCE package.
Another exclusive option is the designo leather package. There, nappa leather surrounds the passengers in the entire vehicle - from exclusive upholstered cushions for the executive seats to the headliner with striking decorative stitching.
