To Mercedes AMG GT R Pro, G-Class and a McLaren 720s the Polish tuner Carlex Design is now also bringing the X-Class "EXY Widebody" as limited Racing Green Edition on the market. This is an impressive continuation of the Limited series, which is probably due in particular to the great popularity of the previous vehicles. Carlex Design is probably the tuner that has the most extensive tuning program available on the market for the Mercedes X-Class. We have already presented a wide variety of EXY conversions and each vehicle makes it harder to say goodbye. If it weren't white: After only 2 years of construction, Mercedes decided to take the X-Class out of its range without replacement because it was unsuccessful. Mercedes had only sold 2019 vehicles worldwide in 15.300. The technically identical Nissan Navara, on the other hand, was sold over 2019 times in the first half of 66.000 alone. The last copy was built in May of this year. Pity! Incidentally, the current copy from Carlex Design's repertoire is the tenth EXY vehicle.
X-Class "EXY" as Racing Green Edition
In our opinion, this conversion is one of the most impressive by Carlex. The X is officially called "X-Class Racing Green“And combines the know-how of Carlex Design with the usual phenomenally upgraded interior as well as the extensive exterior range of the subsidiary Pickup design. The body received the well-known carbon body kit with screwed-on fender flares front and rear, completely new front and rear aprons, bonnet with power dome and front mask and also a modified radiator grille and noble carbon mirror caps. The vehicle was also placed on in-house aluminum rims in black with new tires and white tire stickers, thus perfectly filling the widened wheel arches. Our personal highlight, however, is the successful loading area cladding and the ducktail spoiler lip for the practical tailgate.
brushed British Racing Green
In addition, of course, the unique shell in deep emerald green that of the legendary British Racing Green should remember and as brushed version covers most of the body. Even the carbon fibers of the new body components are colored green. The impressive finish, which blends seamlessly into the green lacquered carbon, enables a particularly harmonious color gradient and never looks exaggerated or even intrusive. And the cabin has also been completely rebuilt but at no time overloaded, as we think. Carlex relies on partly huge carbon surfaces with "Racing Green" lettering and there was also a completely new leather interior with many accents in white. But green details can also be seen, from the air vents in the dashboard to the bucket seats.
dark green headlining in the X-Class
Tons of Alcantara, the dark green headliner, tiny details such as the refined belts, the new steering wheel and the tailor-made emblems impressively round off the exclusivity of the one-off. Unfortunately, the prices for such a complete vehicle are currently not known, but it goes without saying that this is a high six-figure sum. And that brings us back to the problem of the X-Class. It is and always was too expensive! If we get more information, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to.
