For decades, it has been the benchmark in the luxury segment. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class which came with this name for the first time in the year 1972 as series 116 on the market. Five generations later, we arrived at the W222 model, which has been in production since 2013 and received a major facelift just over a year ago (presented at the Auto Shanghai Auto Show). The top model on "paper" is the S65 AMG L with M 279 E 60 AL-V12 petrol engine which catapults the luxury liner forward with 630 PS & 1000 NM torque. The fastest The variant, however, is the AMG S63 4MATIC + version that has been available since July last year and has the V8 biturbo with 612 PS & 900 NM from the current E-Class.
It leaves the V12 no chance in terms of acceleration, draft and fuel consumption, and in combination with the SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9 gearbox sports gearbox, is currently the fastest option for driving a standard S-Class.
