For decades, it has been the benchmark in the luxury segment. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class which came with this name for the first time in the year 1972 as series 116 on the market. Five generations later, we arrived at the W222 model, which has been in production since 2013 and received a major facelift just over a year ago (presented at the Auto Shanghai Auto Show). The top model on "paper" is the S65 AMG L with M 279 E 60 AL-V12 petrol engine which catapults the luxury liner forward with 630 PS & 1000 NM torque. The fastest The variant, however, is the AMG S63 4MATIC + version that has been available since July last year and has the V8 biturbo with 612 PS & 900 NM from the current E-Class.
It leaves the V12 no chance in terms of acceleration, draft and fuel consumption, and in combination with the SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9 gearbox sports gearbox, is currently the fastest option for driving a standard S-Class. And even the VorFacelift with 585 PS V8 is on a par with the big V12 and with a little tuning even looser above the level of the 2017er model. And just such a copy was now on the website of Vossen Wheels presented and we can by no means withhold the piece of jewelery from you. A snow-white W222 with a brutal lowering and a tailor-made wheel set. If we are properly informed, the Stuttgart from the team Ground car house on its feet.
Who knows the Californian tuner knows that hardly a vehicle the hall without one Airride air suspension leaves. And this is also the case with the S63 AMG, which is pressed down to the last millimeter in the direction of the road using the Airride and Accuair controls. At the touch of a button, however, it is always back up to a mobile level, so that there are no noteworthy restrictions in terms of everyday usability. And of course we would like to mention the golden Vossen VPS-305 wheelset of the Precision Series at this point. It is equipped with ultra-thin Nitto low-profile tires in 22 inch format and, in combination with the air suspension, ensures that the filigree forged front and rear part of the wheel vanes into the wheel arch.
Small changes such as the frame of the radiator grille painted in the body color, the black lettering and window frames or the completely darkened windows round off the successful appearance of the S-Class. An impressive vehicle that shows that neither a body kit nor a shrill foiling are necessary to skilfully stand out from the crowd. We do not currently have any more details about the S-Class. If we receive information about changes that have not been made before us, there will of course, as always, be an update for this report.
