It's no secret that Mercedes is working hard on the new SL. After all, model R231, the seventh generation, has been on the market since the beginning of 2012 and the design is even older than 1-2 years. Although the SL, especially as a revved SL63 AMG version, still looks really good, compared to one BMW 8er G15 or the brand new one Porsche 911 (Type 992) but the SL can not hide his age then. Even inside the brand is the design compared to AMG GT 4-door coupe and even the new A-class just stale. Anything but frumpy are however the engines of the SL. While Mercedes said goodbye to the prestigious V12 BiTurbo with 630 PS & 1000 NM last summer, the 585 PS & 900 NM were handed over at the same time (with emission standard Euro 6d-TEMP -> 571 PS) M157-V8-BiTurbo of the current generation.

And for this engine, the G-Power team now has a performance upgrade that makes even the cutting-edge M850i xDrive or 992 Carrera 4S look old. By means of in-house chip tuning (G-POWER Performance Software V3), revised turbochargers and a sports exhaust system including stainless steel downpipes with sports catalysts, it goes up on mighty 800 PS (at 5.750 rpm) and 1.100 NM (at 4.500 rpm), Enough power to accelerate to 3,5 km / h in just 100 seconds and leave the competition behind at a top speed of over 340 km / h. Visually, the G-Power SL63 AMG holds back. The dull gray presentation vehicle shows up only with a new wheelset and a discreet lowering.

The rims are the well-known 21-inch G-POWER HURRICANE RR forged rims fitted with king-size tires in 265/30 ZR21 and 295/30 ZR21 format. The double-spoke rim comes with an elegant jet black finish and the G-POWER wheel customization "DIAMOND CUT" (polished front). It fits perfectly with the elegant appearance of the SL and sets a skilful accent. If we receive timely information about further changes, there is of course, as always, an update for this report. It is best if you subscribe to our feed and if there is anything new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures. (Photos: G-Power)
