For the old Mercedes SLK series R 170, which was built from 1996-2004, tuner Lumma Design brought a body kit onto the market that brings the old SLK properly into shape. Contrary to the trend, always the latest and greatest model, Lumma has certainly responded to high demand and tuned the R 170.

The body kit shown here is made in the style of the Black Series series and is called "Black Move". The Mercedes SLK R 170 was certainly a best seller for the Stuttgart-based company, but it was certainly not a car for dynamism and sportiness either. Cruising was more the SLK's motto. The complete widebody conversion kit in the SL Black Series style consists of a new front apron, wheel arch extensions, side sills and a rear sill with diffuser.
The four-pipe exhaust system (tailpipe trims) rounds off the rear in a sporty way. The old-fashioned shape of the R 170 has completely disappeared after the conversion. The 20-inch Y-spoke light alloy wheels with 30mm track widening per axle are a perfect match. The lowering by means of the Bilstein coilover kit makes the SLK much more sporty around the corner.
