RACE! South Africa - Mercedes SLS AMG in matt white

One thing is clear, it is extremely rare and extremely conspicuous even 7 years after its presentation! You can rightly call it an "absolute eye-catcher". I'm of course talking about the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (Factory internal C 197, Roadster R 197), which was presented to the public for the first time at the IAA in September 2009 and then went on sale on March 27, 2010. Huge bonnet, atypical Mercedes "short overhangs" front & rear, a thick V8 and of course the spectacular gullwing doors! The showpiece (next to the Black Series) was then introduced in November 2013 GT Final Edition with which the production of the SLS ended in June 2014 (only the GT3 was produced until 2016). And just such a 571PS - SLS was the days with the South African tuner RACE! South Africa to guest. The tuner gave the SLS a 3M full wrap in Satin White (matt white) and set glossy black accents all around. Another highlight of the sporty Stuttgart are the carbon aerodynamic parts from Brabus, which were apparently already installed. Here the AMG got a front spoiler, subtle approaches for the side skirts, right and left air inlets in the front bumper, gills in the fenders, a subtle spoiler lip on the boot lid, and if we are correct, the diffuser also comes from the German premium tuner from Bottrop.

But we are not entirely sure, because RACE! also built an Akrapovic sports exhaust system with carbon tailpipes and anyone who knows Akrapovic knows that they also offer a diffuser for almost every vehicle. On the other hand, we are sure of the glossy black alloy wheels that also come from Brabus. This is the Monoblock F type in an estimated 21-22 inches. If you look closely you can also see a modified brake system, the red painted brake calipers have an unmistakable Brabus logo. Unfortunately, we do not currently know whether the SLS has also received a Brabus performance upgrade or changes in the interior. If we get more information about the modifications to the SLS, there is of course, as always, an update for this report. The best thing is to subscribe to our feed and if there is something new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.

These are the changes to the Mercedes SLS AMG:

  • Brabus carbon body kit (front spoiler, side skirts, air intakes in the front bumper, gills in the fenders, spoiler lip, diffuser)
  • matt white foiling all around with black accents (Mercedes star front & rear, exterior mirrors, radiator grille) - 3M satin white
  • Brabus Monoblock F alloy wheels in glossy black
  • Brabus brake system with red painted calipers
  • subtle lowering (sport springs, coil springs, sports suspension, coilover suspension - more information is not available)
  • darkened / tinted windows all around
  • possibly a performance increase - (chip tuning, tuning box, compressor or turbo conversion, NOS etc. - more information is not available)
  • Akrapovic sports exhaust system (with carbon tailpipes)

possibly Brabus interior:

  • Interior - Tachometer up to 400-km / h (250 mph), ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, stainless steel door sills with backlight in the shape of the BRABUS logo, matte anodized pedals, etc.
