Unfortunately, a "strong" Mercedes V-Class is not yet in the Mercedes-AMG portfolio. The "bus" with the star is far too utility-oriented on the part of Mercedes to be able to offer an AMG variant. That doesn't matter though, because GAD Tuning figured that it wouldn't be impossible to make a true supersport MPV out of the V-Class. Pretty much everyone should tuned VW Multivan work up a sweat in terms of driving performance. The extraordinary vehicle, and special the changes since July 2021, we would like to explain/show you today.
Discreet look on the V63
The big secret of the car isn't revealed directly just by looking at the exterior. The body is modified only subtly and, for example, with a GAD emblem and a small Carbon body kit Mistake. Nevertheless, it is of course evident that it is a modified V-Class. A specially made KW coilover kit was also installed and there was one in addition weight increase, which allows the doped V63 to load even more than the standard version with a four-cylinder diesel engine.
And of course a big brake upgrade was also carried out, because the large MPV is now decelerated with the help of a ceramic brake system from AMG. 19-inch Maybach-style alloy wheels with a dark gray finish are also found on the car, which from the outside doesn't appear to offer supersport-level performance.
with OPF particle filter / body kit with front apron, rear apron, diffuser, other emblems etc. / TÜV approval approx. 65.000 euros / trailer hitch fully usable / 8,5 seconds from 100-200 km/h / 9G-Tronic TCT automatic transmission
The engine generates a gigantic 620 hp!
The aforementioned 4-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine (M177), which incidentally is indicated by some 4-liter twin-turbo V8 emblems, naturally comes from an AMG and has been modified to fit the short engine compartment of the V-class. It also delivers incredible 620 PS & 900 NM! And the gearbox also comes from Affalterbach. This is the well-known nine-speed automatic, which transmits the power of the engine to the rear wheels. The van passed all tests required for TÜV approval with flying colours, and even many fast laps on the Nordschleife (2.000 kilometers including a record drive) could not harm the power colossus. Unfortunately, we do not know anything about the specific driving performance and the maximum speed.
Our conclusion:
- From our point of view, a very unusual project that might even be food for thought for AMG when it comes to future models. Such a supersport version of an MPV would open a new niche in the market.
