Mitsubishi 4000GT as a modern 3000GT successor?

Mitsubishi 4000GT as a modern 3000GT successor?

For many years, fans of the Mitsubishi brand have not had a real athlete. While Toyota with the new Supra celebrated great successes and Nissan for years anyway GT-R in the range, the only thing left for the fans of the Japanese car manufacturer based in Tokyo is the sad look back at the legendary 3000 GT. It was manufactured in Nagoya (Japan) from 1990 to 2000 and also sold as a GTO in some countries. The 286-hp 3000 GT VR4 with a three-liter biturbo V6 was particularly popular here, generating an impressive 407 Newton meters. With all-wheel drive including planetary gear and two visco locks, he brought the power foolproof in a ratio of 45:55 to all four wheels and was a serious competitor for the Porsche 911 and some Ferrari.

3000GT new edition as 4000GT?

However, the all-wheel drive was also responsible for the high empty weight of the 3000 GT. Nevertheless, the athlete was extremely popular and all the more incomprehensible the fact that no successor is in sight to this day. By the way, we don't really see the Eclipse built in 4 generations as Successor of the 3000 GT. This 4000 GT from the graphic designer Matthew Parsons however yes! That would be a perfect candidate to catch customers against the new Supra, the GT-R or maybe even the announced Z successor from Nissan. The rendering interprets a modern 3000GT new edition called 4000GT. It shows itself with a much more aggressive look compared to the staid 3000 GT from back then. Nowadays, significantly more corners and edges dominate than that GT-R50 from Italdesign or the new one Evidence of Corvette C8.

LED light bar at the front and rear

And the also very angular design of the virtual 4000 GT fits perfectly. Hard, sharp-cut beads and edges can be seen everywhere and the overhangs at the front and rear have been swapped with the predecessor. Because the 4000 GT presents itself with a long overhang at the front including a large bonnet and at the rear the apron and its overhang are very compact. With the 3000 GT it was exactly the opposite. The headlights of the 4000 GT are similar to the look of the predecessor, but combined with ultra-modern accents such as an LED light bar for daytime running lights. And even at the rear you can surmise the predecessor, but here too, modern components such as an LED light bar or the sporty aggressive diffuser determine the look.

the rear spoiler is significantly larger

With the rear spoiler, the concept with the higher design clearly sets itself apart from the 90s athlete from Tokyo. And the beautiful wheelset from the Bugatti La Voiture Noire with central locking. In combination with a low-set chassis, this design literally cries out for an implementation. And what could be under the hood? We find a V6 BiTurbo with e-technology and around 550 PS perfect, right? The current crisis-ridden Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi alliance has had a real crisis and certainly other problems than an exclusive 3000 GT successor since the involuntary departure of the former CEO Carlos Ghosn. It's a shame actually ... If we get news about this, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
