Mitsuoka Buddy - Chevrolet SUV optics on the Toyota RAV4!

What happens when Japanese body designers put an American old school SUV off the ground? The Mitsuoka Buddy! It's like a classic Chevrolet SUV from the 1980s based on the current Toyota RAV4. And in fact the end product could be worse than we think, which, by the way, we already have with Mitsuoka Galue have said. Other vehicles like the “Orochi”, as a bizarre sports car, or the conversion kit from Mazda MX-5 for the Chevrolet Corvette C2 underline our personal Fanbase to Mitsuoka. And now there may soon be the "Buddy"! Like the converted MX-5, the Buddy should also be reminiscent of an American vehicle from days gone by. A modern Chevrolet K5. However, a significantly smaller size and, as already mentioned, based on the Toyota RAV4.

Mitsuoka essentially only changes the front and rear and there is also a classic wheel set. The conversion apparently has no effect on the technology, apart from the headlights at the front and rear. At the front there is a shiny full-width K5 Blazer grille and two-piece rectangular headlights on top of each other. It continues with a large chrome apron and integrated LED daytime running lights. In addition, the fenders are much more angular and a matching bonnet is included. The RAV4 is then quickly visible in the side view. The RAV4 roof line and the entire silhouette simply cannot be concealed. The all-terrain T / A tires on steel rims in the style of the 1980s with chrome-plated hubcaps don't help either. In the area of the side skirts there was a chrome strip that matches the front and the rear is clearly different from the RAV4. A lot of chrome can be seen here too. The Toyota taillights are replaced by slim and vertically installed lamps, which could also come from an old Cadillac Brougham.

unfortunately no V8 compressor under the hood

There is also a chrome lettering on the rear in the style of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and in general the tailgate is heavily reminiscent of the classic Jeep from the 80s in combination with a few current Range Rover accents. And of course a completely chrome-plated apron is also installed at the rear. If the buddy now had a fat V8 compressor under the hood, it would be an absolute dream. But more than the factory Toyota 2,0 liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine or the 2,5 liter hybrid with all-wheel drive is not possible. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the interior yet. It remains to be seen whether the cabin will remain standard or whether extensive changes have been made here as well. If we get more information about the changes to the Mitsuoka Buddy, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to.
