Only die-hard auto experts are likely to be in this country Mitsuoka Orochi be a concept. On only 400 pieces limited, and was in production from 2007 to 2014, the show car, which looks like a super sports car but offers far less power than the brutal shape suggests, is one of the absolute exotic in the automotive world. Based on the first generation platform of the Honda NSX, the Orochi immediately attracts everyone's attention in traffic thanks to its extroverted design language. In our eyes, the front section of the coupé, which is 2,03 m wide without the wide body kit, is reminiscent of the Jaguar XJ220 from the early 1990s, although it has four round headlights and no sleeping eyes like the legendary Jaguar. The rear, on the other hand, could also come from a Lamborghini, as it has certain similarities with the design language of the Lamborghini Diablo.

2022: new pictures with foiling

Either way, the Mitsuoka Orochi is probably the most dazzling vehicle on the boulevards of the land of smiles. At the Tokyo Autosalon 2019 this extreme version of the Orochi was presented, which was made by the tuning company Liberty Walk has been refined. At the front of the Liberty-Walk-Mitsuoka it immediately falls illuminated radiator mouth which is supposed to symbolize a mystical dragon, namely the eight-headed dragon Yamata no Orochiwho was also the namesake for the coupé. This is also particularly noticeable Stance tuning Mitsuoka, who is already crouching low above the ground and looks as if the car is glued to the asphalt. The big one, on the other hand, is completely in the style of a GT3 racing car rear wingmade by the guys and gals around Wataru Kato was screwed. In order to make the already extremely spectacular vehicle even more special, a Wide body kit attached, which finally ensures that the orochi no longer fits through narrow streets.

With the width of 2,03 m already mentioned above, a widebody kit is actually no longer necessary, but it still looks mighty cool. They are joined by black, concave drop center rims from Forgiatowhich completely fill the enormous wheelhouses and give the black dragon an even darker and more mystical character. This vehicle would certainly attract a lot of attention on the streets of Japan, but the vehicle would also be an absolute eye-catcher in Europe. Alone the entry and exit with the help of the scissor doors is a show in which quite a few cell phones are certainly pulled out.

3,3 liter V6 suction gasoline engine provides propulsion.

Now comes the most surprising side of the Mitsuoka Orochi, namely the drive. A 3,3 liter V6 suction gasoline engine from Toyota with modest 233 PS and 334 Newtonmeter maximum torque is in the rear of the orochi. This finally makes it clear that the vehicle is only intended as a boulevard cruiser and not to compete with Ferrari or Lamborghini. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-stage automatic. The curb weight is 1560 kg, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 6,7 kg / hp. So the Mitsuoka accelerates at a leisurely pace 6,6 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h. The top speed is unfortunately not known to us, but every car fan who thought that this was a veritable super sports car will surely be disappointed that a "little motor" with 233 hp is under the chic shell.

updates / News from 12.01.2022

The unique piece has been given a new look. Sphere Light is a Japanese manufacturer of accessory headlights, and they put on the Tokyo Auto Salon 2022 (starts the day after tomorrow) the sports coupé with the widebody kit (Front splitter, flared fenders, side skirts, rear wings, diffusers, etc.) from Liberty Walk. Of course, the new one is also included Exhaust System with the black double tubes on the right and left instead of the single tubes on each side. And the chic black Y-spoke wheel set and the extreme lowering are still installed.

new full wrap all around

But for the TAS2022, the orochi was given a racing-inspired color scheme in the form of a full wrap. It's white on the front and has a yellow, lightning-shaped stripe on the side similar to that of Cars "Lightning McQueen". The lightning bolt runs over both sides of the vehicle and also over the rear. There are also many stickers from the tuning brands involved. The headlights also have LEDs from Sphere Light built in, but so far there are no new pictures from the cabin. We assume, however, that nothing has changed here. Also, there will probably not have been any changes to the drive train.
