The English sports car manufacturer Morgan has reissued the new Morgan Plus Four, and has put the new model on the new CX platform, which was already with the last year Morgan Plus Six with B58 BMW engine was presented, and relies entirely on aluminum construction. Although the new Morgan Plus Four looks very similar to its predecessor, which has been built for decades, according to Morgan, 97 percent of the parts have been completely redesigned. In addition, the name of the model was changed to Plus Four, and the number "4" has now disappeared from the nomenclature of the new model from the traditional British brand. The new Plus Four was developed together with the Plus Six mentioned above, which is also based on the new aluminum platform, which has a much stiffer and at the same time lighter base than the old wooden frame, which, together with a steel construction, provided the body of the Morgan models Has. The ash wood has not yet finally become obsolete, but a state-of-the-art aluminum frame now ensures rigidity and crash safety in the new models from the Morgan brand.
Everything is handmade in the interior
The interior of the new Morgan Plus Four is kept in the tradition of the Morgan models and has only the most necessary comfort equipment. You won't find modern things like driver assistance systems or a comfort zone in the interior, but the Morgan doesn't want to spoil it at all, but rather attune the pilot to an incomparable driving experience that can only be found in a puristic, unadulterated traditional English roadster. Of course, the few things that adorn the interior were all handmade to demonstrate the exclusivity of a Morgan Plus Four.
Four-cylinder drive from BMW
The new Morgan Plus Four is powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine from BMW, which has a 2-liter displacement, a twin turbocharger and 255 hp. The maximum torque of the engine should be 400 Newton meters. The power is transmitted either via a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic, and the acceleration from zero to one hundred takes place in 4,8 seconds, since the new Morgan only weighs 1009 kg, and thus a power-to-weight ratio of 3,95 kg / hp can have. The top speed of the puristic roadster is 240 km / h, making it suitable not only for worn out country road sections, but also for freeway journeys where the pilot would like to push the tube a little to show stunned drivers what to do Retro roadsters like a Morgan Plus Four are capable of doing so.
A car for lovers of solid men's drivers
The new Morgan Plus Four is a traditional British old-style roadster, which should be particularly popular with older people. Young tuning enthusiasts are less enthusiastic about classic automobiles of this type or at least want to enjoy the six-cylinder. But of course young drivers are also welcome in a Morgan. They too make a solid and confident impression in such a classy sports car that embodies classic automotive engineering. However, the main clientele is likely to tend towards well-heeled older gentlemen who want to indulge in their lives again, and thus put an exotic sports car à la Morgan in the garage. In terms of price, the fun starts with the posh British at £ 62.995, and the first copies of the Roadster will be delivered in the second quarter of the current year.
