New pictures and data for the upcoming Ford Focus RS

We already have the 03.02.2015 on the upcoming Ford Focus RS berichtet, Now Ford has released new photos to the compact athlete and shows the new RS unveiled and with a few more data than we had before. We have a small overview of the details on the new RS for you below:

These are the facts known so far:

  • Ford Focus RS
  • Four-wheel drive (Ford Performance four-wheel drive)
  • with manual gearbox or automatic
  • 2.3 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder (from Mustang GT)
  • It is said to be “well over” 320 hp
  • several clutches ensure torque distribution between the front and rear axles
  • 70% can go to the rear axle
  • In general, the RS is supposedly designed very stern
  • Provide rear wheels independently with torque
  • Understeer is allegedly a foreign word (best in class in terms of cornering speed and handling: "according to Ford")
  • Semi-Slicks Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 series are available for an extra charge

  • Recaro sports seats (surcharge: also bucket seats)
  • SYNC2 infotainment

Update from 05.03.2015

For the new Ford Focus RS there will be a special "drift" mode and a "launch control" start system.

Update from 07.03.2015

  • Statement from Ford: "In terms of performance, we will soon be offering a specially tuned 2,3-liter EcoBoost petrol engine with 350 hp."
