Here comes the reincarnation of an absolute rally icon! Based on a Ferrari F430 Scuderia brings the Manifattura Automobili Torino the legendary Lancia Stratos 25 x as "New Stratos" back to the present. The project has been underway for a number of years, but only two customer vehicles made it into reality in 2018. Both specimens could be seen at the Geneva Motor Show and especially the New Stratos in the Alitalia look with stylish yellow Alus + additional lights in carbon (in the video at the bottom) attracted the attention of the visitors. But also the second vehicle in subtle blue as a handset (the F430 has an 6 gear sequential F1 transmission) is an absolute highlight. Incidentally, the New Stratos has nothing to do with the Lancia brand! That only as a hint. The Ferrari F430 Scuderia donated the chassis but this was costly cut to 20 centimeters on 4,18 meter.

And the 4,3-liter V8 engine of the Scuderia in the New Stratus does a little more than the 510 PS & 470 Nm ex works and rotates a maximum of 8.700 rpm. There was new software and a sports exhaust from Capristo and about 10 to a maximum of 30 hp are also available. In addition, there is the significantly lower empty weight of 150 kg due to a carbon body compared to the 430 Scuderia, which nevertheless means that the vehicle is a good 30 percent stiffer than the donor car after the conversion. In addition, there is an almost perfect weight distribution of 44:56 percent and, of course, improved driving performance. The New Stratos, weighing just 1.250 kilos, flies to 100 km / h in just 3,3 seconds and the athlete breaks the 200 barrier in just under ten seconds. And the cabin with its integrated roll cage is hardly reminiscent of the Ferrari F430.

Leather and countless details made of carbon dominate here and we find the analog displays particularly chic, which are being replaced more and more by fully digital instruments these days. With a basic price of at least € 630.000, this exclusive handicraft has a high price. In view of the approx. 2500 to 3000 working hours “per vehicle”, it is somehow understandable.
