No stopping - the Nissan Frontier Desert Runner to the SEMA

At the SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas presents Nissan among others with the Frontier Desert Runner a model that has been on the market for over 16 years with relatively few changes - and is still very popular. However, the Frontier Desert Runner Titan presented at the auto show differs significantly from its brothers who are in the shop window of the Nissan dealership.

The joint tuning of MA Motorsports (among other things responsible for the new body parts) and the Nissan Motorsport team is extremely extensive in terms of looks. But the core of the modifications is undisputedly the V8 engine with 5,6 liters displacement, which originally provided ample feed in the Nissan Titan. This was also given a Garret turbocharger and a large intercooler as a custom-made product. The off-roader was "officially" never on a dynamometer, but Nissan estimates that the unit delivers around 600 hp at a remarkable 949 Newton meters. The modifications made to the camshafts, pistons and valves also ensure this. So you are easily on the level of a current GT-R!

Manual transmission with 6 gears

Incidentally, the power is transmitted by means of Manual transmission with six gears, with the clutch and light flywheel from Jim Wolf Technology. This means that only a 4X2 drive configuration is possible for this pickup. And the new chassis on the Nissan Frontier Desert Runner Titan is unmistakably designed for any terrain. King Racing triple-bypass shock absorbers are used in combination with a height-adjustable coilover suspension. They allow the Frontier Desert Runner Titan to easily put away any bumps. On top of that, the suspension travel can be adjusted individually, for which purpose a BTF Fabrication Kit has been installed. In the rear, the King Racing Triple-Bypass shocks along with Giant Motorsports Link Killer leaf springs provide ride comfort and a soft dip for any jumps. And of course, the 37-inch BFGoodrich Baja T / A tires also carry on fifteen52 Bedlock aluminum wheels in black and gold included.

Tuning highlights for the seasoned Frontier

Extensive LED light strips from STARRE illuminate the path or the wilderness in front of the driver to the factory-made headlights. And if it gets really bumpy, a massive underride guard with sturdy tubular grille bumper protects the mechanical components behind it. And a skilled intervention in the optics are of course the powerful MA Motorsports fender flares (completely new components) all around as well as the rugged bonnet with quick-release buckles and large air intakes. The body parts are fastened with partially exposed screwed connections and here and there also flash a few small LED cubes (front bumper). And at the rear, it is too. The full spare wheel is mounted in a specially designed carrier and with a strap lashed. There are also useful equipment such as a fire extinguisher and even the vehicle battery can be seen on the shelf. In addition, the rear area shows the previously mentioned damper system that is attached to a special grid pipe strut. And also in the interior something has happened. Everything has been thrown out unceremoniously and replaced by a full-fledged racing equipment. Worth mentioning here would be the huge aluminum handbrake lever for drifting, there was a Sparco Sport steering wheel with Alcantara cover and a digital display shows all important information and was placed directly in front of the factory instrument cluster. The highlight is definitely the Sparco Sports Seats inklusive Sport belts which provide a perfect lateral support during tough off-road use.

Conclusion: the Frontier becomes an infinite story

The popular pickup is through the version Nissan Frontier Desert Runner Titan to the PS-thrilling off-roader, at the sight of car hearts beat faster. At the SEMA booth where the Frontier Titan is available, retrofit kits for the standard Frontier are offered. Of course, this is also a subtle hint from MA Motorsports who of course want to sell their body-side modifications to the Frontier Titan. It is certain that the aged Nissan Frontier, the oldest of its kind on the market, by no means belongs to the scrap iron. If we receive timely information on further changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if yours is just ours Feed subscribe to.
