Soon the legendary Godzilla will come as electric restomod back to the big stage! However, not in series, but as a one-off project vehicle. Nissan announced this yesterday under the project name R32EV an electric conversion based on the Skyline GT-R. The aim is apparently to show that the topic of electromobility is not only important for new vehicles in the future, but also for classic cars from the past. This is supposed to illustrate Skyline GT-R type R32 with electric drive. The idea for this apparently came from a Nissan engineer who was developing new electric drives for the Japanese. He wanted his dream car – the GT-R R32 - combine it with an electric motor and received the OK from the manufacturer for this, but you can't see much "yet". The short teaser video only shows an R32 rear in combination with the soundscape of the 2,6-liter straight-six.

We assume that Nissan will install two electric motors in the vehicle to get all-wheel drive. And the batteries will probably find space in the trunk, under the front hood and in several areas in the middle of the vehicle. Whether the classic might already get a few components from the new GT-R is not known.
However, it could be that a GT-R R36 will actually only be available with an electric drive. We are excited to see when the electric mod project based on the Skyline GT-R R32 is officially presented.
