The Opel Zafira-e Life is the ideal vehicle for anyone who needs more space and wants to be flexible today and be mobile all-electric - even on weekend trips to nature or camping. This is demonstrated by the spacious electric van with the lightning bolt at this year's Caravan Salon from August 26th to September 4th in several variants. In Düsseldorf, for example, it can not only be seen at Stand D42 in Hall 16, but as the first battery-electric Crosscamp Flex, it can also be seen on the model pitch on the subject of sustainability in the open-air area, Stand 17-01.
Zafira Crosscamp Flex
presented there Cross camp, the young brand for urban campers, the prototype of a battery-electric Crosscamp Flex based on the Opel Zafira-e Life. In this way, the specialists combine the high level of suitability for everyday use and leisure activities of the Opel van with the desire for a locally emission-free camper. Whether with friends to the lake, with mountain bikes in the luggage to the next trails, to a concert in the center or at the weekend for a few nights in nature - with the Crosscamp Flex all these activities are possible. And that too in the future with a battery-electric drive.
The 75 kWh battery, which is installed as standard in the underbody to save space, ensures longer weekend trips. This means that travelers can travel up to 322 kilometers in the series Opel Zafira-e Life according to WLTP1 locally emission-free. Charging is then just as easy as relaxed driving. The batteries can be charged using a wall box at home, a fast charger on the go, or using any socket. The 100 kWh battery can be recharged to 75 percent in around 48 minutes at a fast charging station with 80 kW direct current. In order to protect the drive battery, an additional auxiliary battery with a capacity of 95 Ah supplies consumers on board, such as the light, cool box or USB socket for charging smartphones, cameras or other electronic devices.
Typical Crosscamp, typical Opel: Highly flexible and with maximum safety
As with every Crosscamp, the fully electric Crosscamp Flex has everything on board that campers need for a relaxed overnight tour: The equipment includes many practical features such as front seats that can be rotated by 180 degrees, a kitchen block, cupboards and sink or even a gas cooker and integrated fresh water and waste water tanks . The bench seat in the rear becomes a practical double bed in just a few simple steps; A pop-up roof offers space for two more beds, so that up to four people can dream in the Crosscamp Flex in nature.
In order to make the journey not only comfortable but also safe, numerous assistance systems are on board in every Crosscamp variant based on Zafira-e Life. These include the front collision warning as well as the lane and traffic sign assistant with intelligent cruise control, fatigue warning and emergency brake assistant. The battery-electric Crosscamp Flex will complement the diesel-powered variants from 2023. In addition, the brand plans to offer the electric urban camper as a Crosscamp Lite.
Of course, that wasn't the end of it!
